4th-5th Days: Flagstaff, AZ
Not much happening in town (other than lots of traffic), but there were a lot of things to see outside of town.

Bearizona (part walk through zoo & part drive through) so of course, I get pictures of birds among other things!

Went to Meteor Crater

Stunning how large the impact site was. That platform on the lower right juts out over a huge hole (I was on top of the impact site taking the photo).

Checked out the Wukoki Pueblo ruins

I think these ruins had a different name but can't remember what they were called. I doubt if our houses will look this solid in 800 years.

Days 6-7: headed off to Sedona, AZ
Beautiful steep drive down into the Oak Creek Canyon to reach Sedona (the suicide hotline number was posted along the bridge)

Sedona is an "artsy" kind of place, lots of sculptors around town, weird New Age shops (anyone need their aura purified or some new crystals?), but great scenery and gorgeous red rocks.

Days 8-9: Mesa Verde National Park

One of my favorite places, haven't been there since I was a little kid (DH had never been there). The drive up the mountain to see where the cliff dwellers built their homes 100's of years ago was scarier than I recall, lol.
