But what if the pipes were buried deeper?

The pipes could be buried deeper, but at great cost. They actually do need to be re-done as there are ongoing problems with the water pipes for irrigation. Last year DH got an estimate of the cost to re-do the water pipes (making them deeper and replacing them as most of the pipes are 30+ years old) and presented it to our advisory board...once they found out how much it would cost, they all decided to cross their fingers & hope for the best

Seems like a lame plan. I would think it would be best to do it while closed for the season than wait for a disaster mid season but i guess, go with the flow. I was sure happy to get water run up to the garage and not hauling water so far. Those Ditch Witches are cool!

Good Morning Friends :hugs

You guys n’ gals are full of brilliant ideas first thing in the morning!! :lau

DebbyA peaceful season would be much appreciated” Be careful what you wish for; I wished for rain and got a flood! ;)

Funnily enough, no freezing ground here :p

Beautiful sunny day today with a predicted maximum of 91.5F.

I am home alone for most of today :wee just me and the puddy cats in the house. FIL is driving Jessie to Townsville for her annual vaccinations and check up; as you know, we have no faith in our local veterinary practice and would rather drive the 3-4 hour round trip.

Going to make a Shepherd’s Pie in my lunch hour so that when hubby and FIL get home, dinner is ready and just needs finishing off in the oven.

Sounds like you must have had a peaceful day Teila :D, hope you enjoyed it! Mmm, Shepherd's Pie is so good.

P.S. I'll keep your rain/flood in mind, lol.

"Go with the flow"
Hee hee

Looks like you got more than your share Kelsey!

Yup! We probably got at least a foot or just under but not really sure. Some places got like a foot and a half to two feet!

nice pictures!

Thanks!

Yup, Monday - Friday.... Morning all:frow KD Hope you get power back soon... If you're worried about frozen food, put it in a cooler and bury it in the snow.

Thanks! We got power back between like 8 and 9, saw them working on it when we left

Funny thing is when we saw the Eversource truck on our way out when we were going to dinner/lunch and they said they identified the problem but weren't sure when the crews would come out to fix it. Apparently they weren't the people that fixed it. But he said a wire was down behind the truck at the beginning of the road and the tip of a pole snapped at the end of the road. He was a really nice guy, my mom was talking to him, but I was thinking to myself, you are just identifying the problem now!? At 3:30pm? When it was out all day yesterday!? And then the crews didn't get there for a while. Cause we went to dinner then the pet store/BJs (I went to pet store, mom went to BJs), then came home, power was still out, so we went to the library, then to the store to get lights, then a newspaper (we forgot it the first time ha) anyway, I think when we checked before we went to the library they were working on it cause they were cutting a wire in the street, and then when we came back later they were still there and then finally it was still on.

Anyway, my point is they were there a while but when we came back they were gone so not sure exactly when it got back on.

But anyway, from 330 it took several more hours to actually get the crew there and fix it.

Can't like such an architectural abomination in nature, otherwise loved all the pictures, thanks!

Or just get the generator started. It isn't hard ;)

Naw, can't be! Spring doesn't happen that soon! Though I guess there shouldn't be too many snow events. Do people actually go out and golf that early? I would think tromping the sleepy grass trying to get started for the season would be bad for it.

My brother came and started it for us today but our power is back on now.

Our food's probably all bad though?

Looks like our last snow!

It's pretty!

But today a bunch melted. Well, not on the ground yet, too deep, but the pretty snow in the pines is melted off and the snow melted off most of the bent trees, thankfully. They seem to have bounced back up.

In the shaded parts of the yard, there's still snow on the pines.

It was really sunny and nice today and not a cloud in the sky
