Ok, guess I'm stuck with it![]()
The eggs are due to hatch the same day i have my biopsy, the 20th. May hatch early as it was running hot to start with. Not sure about mixing quail of different ages, but i can put her in half of the duplex cage and them in the other half. I keep looking for quail on CL, but they are all too far away.
Good morning everyone. Very late start here.
I posted this in another forum but didn't get answers...
I know it's not recommended to feed chickens chicken, but what about feeding them Turkey?
I made a bunch of dill pickled yellow squash last fall that came out too mushy for my liking. Is it ok to give those to the gang, or too much salt?
Update - Bitty is still Broody![]()
That can be frustrating!
Good to see you this morning, been busy working?
Good morning all! We are supposed to get a couple inches of snow tonight and more in the morning. The whole week is drearyIt’s hard to get to the coop as it’s so mucky. If I don’t fall before it dries out it will be a miracle.
Yep, we have 2 folks taking off way too much time, so back to being scheduled too many days in a row.
Bitty does come out a couple of times a day with encouragement - but I did have to give her water one evening in the nest. I think this will be her 3rd week so hopefully she'll get over it soon...but if not may have to use some of the broody breaking ideas![]()
I used to have a non-stop broody in the FL flock. I finally resorted to using the broody buster cage with a hardware cloth bottom and got some limited results from that. After being in that for a couple days, she'd seem to be over it but within a week or two, she'd be back to her old broody self. I gave up and re-homed her to a friend that said she wanted her for sitting on fertile eggs.
I do my bestStay safe, no one needs a sprained or broken ankle.
