Little example but he's like that all the time in things big and small! So proud of him!
:love
Would he like to come here? Maybe some of that would rub off on certain members of the family. One in particular manages to hide anytime there is something that needs to be done.

Hmm, I dunno...what do you all think? Stay home or go for it?
I can't go against @Blooie's advice. She knows the area.

Happy Easter and good morning to all:frow Jae and teila loved the pix. Hope that storm goes around or dies down. Jae, did I tell you I have a family of what I think are Tennessee red quail in the field next to where I park at work. I need to get the pics of dad off my phone and onto my computer. Mom's got 4 babies and it's so cool to watch her warm them up. Guys at work think I'm a loon because I like quail TV.

I just looked them up and they are beautiful! I'd love to sit and watch wild quail. We have the Californians ones running wild here and I've once had a covey wander through our backyard, and there's a regional park that we often go to and we've occasionally seen them there, but you only catch a glimpse and then they are gone again. It must be cute watching the hen with her babies.

@Teila, another one?? I thought I knew where the Bermuda Triangle was - now I'm not so sure that it's not right off your coast! Storms to get sucked in there and stay there!

@JaeG How do you get anything done? I'd be standing there with my face against the side of the brooder just watching the overload of cute!

I like frogs too, and in that photo he looks just comfy! But my favorite critters are turtles - they don't get anywhere unless they stick their necks out!

Had a fun day with the kids and grandkids here yesterday. Kendra discovered strawberry shortcake. Yes, she's 6 and it was her first time tasting it, which seems weird, but I haven't made it in a long time. She ate hers. Then she got down from the table and stood next to Jenny, snitching bites of hers too. We're trying to discourage that kind of "Helen Keller" behavior (remember the movie with Patti Duke as Helen?) so Jenny gave her a gentle scold and put her back in her chair. She told Kendra if she wanted a little more she'd have to ask for it. I grabbed her pencil and paper so we could have her write it down, but she was so doggone focused on staring at Jenny's plate she wouldn't do it. Oh, well. It's not going to work every time but Katie did get her to say the word "more" so that's better than okay.

I can't believe Evan is 13 years old today. What a whirlwind of energy and fun that boy is! Trying to catch his thought processes sometimes is like trying to catch a dandelion seed. Yet he's so quietly compassionate...just goes about what needs to be done for someone without anyone even asking. At dinner he was sitting between Katie and Kendra. Kendra's spoon handle ended up in her orange salad and he just took the spoon, went to the sink and rinsed off the handle, then gave it back to her, all without a single word exchanged until he said, "All clean, Kendra." Little example but he's like that all the time in things big and small! So proud of him!

Gonna get some housework caught up today. Everyone pitched in yesterday and the kitchen and living room were put back to normal in short order, but I've got that stoopid endoscopy and dilation tomorrow so I want the last of the laundry caught up and stuff like that.

I hope that each and every one of you has a blessed Easter, that you find the smile you thought you'd misplaced, and that something of beauty will catch your eye. You all mean so much to me! :love

You mean a lot to us too and I'm glad you had a wonderful day. :hugs Your Evan sounds like he's an amazing young man. Wish I could say the same of my nephew but he's the complete opposite. He's only 5 and he's sadly turned into a nasty little boy.

Good luck for your hospital trip. You'll be fine. Get it done and get home again safe.

Well, we're trying to decide whether to drive to Cheyenne or not.

This is one of the highway camera images, right at the highest point we'd be driving over:

That looks chilly!

I love loons. :)

Good Morning Friends :hugs

Sour I love frogs too!

Sunflour the frog in that picture spent the day on the deck, under that shutter and then moved away once the sun went down. He is usually able to be found most days on top of one of the deck doors or in the corner where the wall meets the ceiling.

Loved the Easter funnies Deb :clap Wow, great pic! Sorry the snow put a stop to your plans.

Blooie I am pleased you had a good day! All the best for tomorrow! [Or is it today, Monday ;) :p]

Ron the frogs tend to stay high during the day so not much chance of the girls getting one and they would probably be scared of it; they are terrified of cane toads.

Even though it is Monday today, usual Sunday routine for me, finish housework, grocery shopping etc; ready for back to work tomorrow.

We are under a severe weather warning with slow moving XTC Iris still lurking and unpredictable. Her chances of intensifying back to a TC are now apparently high and the winds have picked up a bit here. We are definitely in for a lot of rain very soon I think.

I am in a world of pain; I suffer from prepatellar bursitis [housemaid’s knee] and while it has been good of late because I do not kneel, I became over confident about how good it has been and made the mistake of kneeling yesterday to take a picture of the girls. All good, it only hurts when I move and ceases up if I don't :p

Iris looks nasty! Fiji is getting hit with one too I think so hopefully that won't head your way as well!

My Mum has been taking Emu oil for her bad knee and she's going to get some actual oil to try rubbing on it as well as it's supposed to be an amazing anti inflammatory. She ran out of the Emu oil capsules and deeply regretted not ordering more before running out as her knee has really started to hurt again. Might be worth a try for your knees.

Thank you for the tip Jae :clap I am one who has used Emu Oil for those general aches and pains and found it to be helpful but not with this knee issue [fluid] unfortunately. Nurofen, knee stocking and rest; says she who is becoming acutely aware of how many times she goes up and down the stairs in a day :p Anyways, got everything done that needs doing until later this afternoon so sitting for a while.

XTC Iris is now TC Iris – CAT 1

Cyclone Categories.jpg

Still no idea if or when she will cross the coast with some predicting she is going to head East and others predicting she is heading West :idunno

Yep, some scary flooding pics coming from Fiji :(

Not sure I should bother trying to catch up at this point? Now it's sooo many posts lol

Anyway, the hotels have been awesome. First one was on the lake. This one is just really hugeeee and fancy and has an attached casino and spa and everything.

Had banana bread French toast this morning at the other place. House made banana bread. Soooo gooooodddd. :love

Right now I am chowing down on pizza at the casino food court lol

But anyway, so my brother has been taking care of the animals all weekend, although I filled all the food and water before I left, including two huge bowls for the chickens, and a pan for the cat, so really minimal work for him but still appreciate it and I did that on purpose.

Anyway, he took Gator over to his house a lot and the dogs interacted. Sent these pictures today. Gator appears to be teaching Libby his ways too!! Gator likes to do what we call "posting up" or being on lookout or on duty or various other names for it. Basically he likes to go outside and just lay out there, always in a prime spot where he can see everything, preferably high up, and just watch his property and/or flock. So as you can see in some of these he is teaching Libby his ways and how to be a proper Pyrenees. :love

And in the water one, I guess, according to a text sent to my dad, Gator's skin is looking better already and my brother looked over and he was wading in the water by himself lol

And the video quality is HORRIBLE on my phone but here is them eating together. It was great quality on my dad's phone (iPhone to iPhone) and I sent it to myself then downloaded it so idk, maybe I ruined it but even sent directly to me and not downloading them the quality is horrible and pixelated. I have got to get an iPhone lol

But here is them eating together on the deck. Gator doesn't even care. Though he does look back to make sure she's not coming near his :lau
