Off to Billings in a little bit - again. Today I pick up the home sleep study monitor and they'll show me how to use it. Then tomorrow I have to bring it back. Sheesh! That'll be three drives up there and back just this week! Nothin' wrong with me except some car sickness, docs!

No kidding, Debby!! But since there are no procedures today, aside from learning how to use the monitor, at least we can get a little shopping done. I still haven't picked up a birthday present for Evan!

A lot different than our area. Any forms we have around here for medical, financial and other applications, we have to check : non-hispanic white. not kidding.

Great news, more baby bunnies! Looked like 5 when i glanced quickly. She is not a friendly rabbit, but not aggressive.

I did it. I bought a house for $5,000.

Now I've got to get a foundation in, well & septic.

I'm going to have running water and warm floors next winter!

Pile driving?? Not a full foundation? I would think a house on piers would be a lot harder to keep warm up in the frozen north.

And where are you putting the house? Obviously you already have land somewhere, I probably just forgot.

Um, do these people not know about USPS, UPS, FedEx????? Probably cost less to mail it back than to drive round trip to Billings. Even if it is more $$ than the gas would cost, still worth not driving AGAIN.

I agree with you Bruce. But the powers that be aka CJ want to do it this way, then close it in.

Right now I'm living in a drill site trailer (The kind utility companies use at work sites) on 99 acres, with 60 acres of it in alfalfa. The only form of utilities I currently have is off grid solar and internet. Right now I have a porta potty and no running water. It's easy to heat with a small wood stove, except the floors aren't insulated. There were times this winter where it was painful to walk.
This place was originally intended as a vacation/retirement property, but then I got pigs and chickens, so I had to stay out here. I have a house in the city (Edmonton AB) that I'm about to list to sell (hopefully within the next week).

This house is small, so hopefully it will move in one piece. Only 743 sq ft.
Built back in the 30s or 40s. Lots of charm. Good bones. Lots of paint needed though.

I can't wait to see pictures of what you do with it!

I do understand that a full foundation is more expensive but easier to insulate, provides a somewhat stable minimum temperature under the house plus you get the extra room for storage *, the well pressure tank, water heater and the furnace (unless you plan to heat with wood/pellets upstairs), etc. Not lots of extra room for those things in a < 800 sq ft house even if carefully designed.

* though that can also bite you in the butt.
