Check out this beauty who I snapped a picture of in my lunch hour today. As you can see (s)he has a damaged wing but was still managing to get around OK and hopefully will be able to avoid all the local birds, which is probably how (s)he got injured in the first place

It is actually bigger than the Sunbird!
Google advises that it is a Cairns Birdwing butterfly which is the largest of all Australian butterflies. The female's wingspan can measure 18cm [7 inches] and their favourite habitat is the rain forest which makes me feel good that he or she was hanging around in my garden; tropical was and still is my goal
