congratulations on Spring getting to your place!
Good news!Yay, I made it through a whole day without injury! Tired though, it's going to be an early to bed kind of evening.
@Blooie you sure are racking up the miles! Our wind has been insane today, gusts over 60mph and I-80 closed to light vehicles from Rawlins to Laramie.
@Jetblack2004 great bank of daffodils!
@Teila congrats on your 18 year anniversary with the company
@Bunnylady hope your DD gets over that injury quickly. When will you be able to see her play?
I managed to not hurt myself. Definitely great for getting those lug nuts off. I didn't dare put them on with it though, afraid they would get too tight, sucker runs fast! I used my new "real" torque wrench to tighten them down. The one I've been using for years is the kind with the "beam" that bends.pneumatic wrenches are great!
Naw, don't worry about it, hundreds of millions of people worldwide have cats and never have a problem. Just wash really well with soap if you do get scratched. I think one reason cats are "worse" is they dig in everything and have such sharp claws they go deep fast. And you usually get at least 4 of them. Why are cats so bad out of all the other animals?
And should I just not have cats anymore?
Like being born, being around vehicles on the road, stuff like that.Kelsey yeah, I wouldn't worry too much; plenty of other stuff more likely to kill ya than your cats or dog etc![]()
REALLY fuzzy!Bunny pictures for now. They are getting fuzzy!

Whipets are great. Just make sure they're in a fully fenced area otherwise they'll take off until they reach an obstacle. Often they can't find their way back.
Doctors thought I had that once, but I hadn't been around a cat in years...
I just read a story about a man losing his legs and all 5 fingers on one hand due to coming down with sepsis from a dog scratch. He'd been rough housing with his cocker spaniel (not the best idea with any dog really!) and got a small scratch on his hand. 2 weeks later he started feeling sick and ended up in hospital.
I have to say I've never got sick from my pets and I've always had cats. I grew up with many cats (and dogs) on the farm until the family moved to suburbia. Heck, you can go into hospital and end up with a super bug so I don't think it's something to lose sleep over.
Good to know. I love Salukis too but they are much rarer in NZ so would no doubt be pricey! I'm sure our mutt has some whippet in her as she runs like the wind. She surprised a Doberman owner one day at the dog park as the Doberman was left for dust. She's great at being a couch potato too!
Sepsis is a big issue! it is one of the main killers of Seniors.
Bites and scratches always need to be well taken care of for sure
Sight hounds are actually pretty lazy. Let them run once or twice a week and the rest of the time they just laze around. Greyhounds have a nickname... 60mph couch potatoes
Yup. Lost my mom to sepsis.
That's my kind of dog. Our dog is such a lazy mutt (though she would keep going all day if you asked her to) that getting another dog 'one day' makes me nervous as she's overall such an easy dog to live with.
Sorry about your Mum.
I am very sorry!
Cats, have more bacteria, I believe, because they eat raw things like mice
I refuse to believe that cats are any worse than dogs or chickens or cows or......plug in critter here....as far as health risks are concerned! But they are inordinately flexible. Even when you think you have them totally secured they still can find a way to defend themselves!![]()
I would not worry about it KD. Odds of it happening are pretty rare.
Plus scratching around in the litter box.
Good Morning Friends
Jae Oooh, I love whippets and if I ever get another dog, they are high on my list of wants!
After converting the miles to kilometres so it made sense to meWow! That is a big day behind the wheel Blooie!
Aaaw Deb I hope you are OK!
Tee hee BL, while not good that your kiddo hurt her knee, still a funny story!
Michelle I like the entrance/sun room! Sorry to hear about your mum
JB Beautiful daffodils!
Kelsey yeah, I wouldn't worry too much; plenty of other stuff more likely to kill ya than your cats or dog etc
On the doggy subject, yeah, my sister has a rescue, Xtrack greyhound and Freddie sleeps most of the day, cuddled up to one or another of his stuffed toys!
On the subject of cats, what Blooie said!
Friday the 13th and 18 years ago today was my first day at work for this company; time flies when you are having fun![]()
My tulips are starting to open. Pictures once they do.

Good point
Glad you didn't have it!
Wow terrifying!!
Thats scary
LOL yes i have heard that nickname too! I thought the running needed to be daily though? Must depend on the dog. But either way, it's like 5 minutes at top speed if that then the crash LOL
As opposed to huskies or something.
So sorry!!
Yeah, our dog is really lazy too and sometimes getting a second dog can mess up the dynamic but sometimes it's great and they can wear each other out.
X2
Yeah but not all cats eat those! And it's apparently common in kittens and young cats too
Exactly! They can't be worse than farm animals!
And LOL true!
Pretty!
Thanks. That's true. But I'm a worrier lol
Very true. Litter boxes are gross. I need to change mine more often though so it's hopefully more sanitary.
Thanks, that's true but I worry lol
And I like the sight hounds but I don't like how skinny they are. I know that's how they're supposed to be and it's very easy to get fat, even if they look skinnyish still, but I feel like it's like bone and I don't like it lol plus too fragile.
I need a tougher dog i think
Soooo cute.
Thanks. That makes sense.
But Blooie said she washed and still got it.
