Things that are trying to kill you in Aus …

We have a Stinging Tree in Queensland which while it may not kill you, doses out searing, blinding agony. I quote the fact sheet on it “It is not going to kill you with venom, but suicide could sound like a good option, yes, it’s that bad

There are 520 species of spider wriggling around Australia, most of which are extremely venomous; worth mentioning are: Red Back, Mouse spider, Wolf spider, Black House spider and Funnel Web spider.

Salt water crocodiles.

Cone Snails.

Sharks.

Jellyfish.

Giant Centipedes which can kill and eat a snake.

Snakes.

Sting Rays.

Scorpions.

Dingoes.

Blue-Ringed Octopus.

Paralysis tick.

Cassowaries – living versions of the raptors from Jurassic Park.

Stonefish.

.. and of course, the heat! :lau

@Teila awesome about the 12 weeks of leave! If you don't use it, will they pay you for it when you leave? The company I worked for did that and it added up to a nice "good-bye" present to myself :D

Hey Debby

Yep, I get paid all recreation leave owing .. because it will be a lump sum, the Tax Man will take 30-40% of it but then he will have to give it back to me at the end of the financial year.

Good Morning Friends :hugs

Great news that Solo is no longer solo Cap :clap Poison Ivy; another thing I am pleased we do not have here in Aus! I hope you recover soon!

Oooh, talking of hazmat suits and respirators .. hubby has an RDO today so he has headed off to Townsville to get some underlay for the bedroom on which to lay our new flooring. Anywho, on my shopping list for him I put goggles and face mask. Of course, he asked why? .. because I have hot chilli’s to dehydrate and crush, silly! :lau

On a side note, I was | | this close to taking a sickie and going with him! As much as I do not want to be here, my work ethic stopped me. Also, hopefully I might just need that sickie for an interview! :fl

Oh yeah, yesterday out of curiosity, I also looked up how much leave I have owing, I was thinking it was 9 or 10 weeks, but turns out it is 12 weeks!

Shall I weigh in on the discussion of ‘things that can kill you where you live’? :p :gig
Your the winner for bad things that can kill you!

:barnieI hate bugs and spiders and rodents and slithery things. I do like little toads. I usually have to chase them all over the yard, so I can pet them and show I mean no harm. They usually piss on me anyway.
:gig DD, do you think its a personal statement or do they just pee on everything? One of the youngest litter of rabbits peed on me yesterday. I was surprised. Never had a rabbit do that before.
