The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I think the little toads pee on me because I chase them down and they are so frightened when I pet them that they loose control.

In your case I think the bunnies just like to pee on you. Maybe like a dog marking his territory. My Ch.stud(Cocker) used to lift his leg on anyone that was close enough, I know he was just showing his love for everyone. :barnie
I have had toads pee on me to!

I bet it was because I squeezed to though

Good morning everyone!

Off to a slow start today, looks like it's going to be a multi-cup of coffee day. It's going to be a bit chilly too...in the 30's now and only going to get about 10* warmer, with rain expected.

@Teila I've been enjoying your new member greetings with the animals (like this):

Very nice!
Me too! Nice greeting pictures for sure

I’ve got Kendra today. Got my plan to have her communicate simple things using paper and pencil figured out. Haven’t tried it with her seriously yet because I didn’t want to confuse her if I had to do some major plan-changing, but I think I have it figured out. Might need some fine tuning, but I won’t know until we try it. And today is the day. I have to remember that she does everything on “Kendra time” so if she decides she isn’t interested I’ll get nothing from her. Fingers crossed! I’m winging it here - inventing as I go along.

Let us know how it works out with Kendra today B...she might just surprise you!

Isn't every day a multi cup of coffee day?

You haven't been doing this long, have you?! :gigBaby rabbits do it all the time - I had a friend who said she could sex 'em that way (if the pee just dribbles down the tail, it's a doe, if it squirts you in the eye, it's a buck!). They usually get over it about the time their eyes open; it's one of the reasons that I don't usually let people hold them when they are that young.

Bucks spraying is a different matter. Some aren't bad, with others, it's like a hobby. I had a Jersey Wooly (small, long-haired breed) that I had to make sure that everything that I put on the grooming table before him was a buck, because if he smelled doe-smell, he would write "Ziggie was here" across my shirt! :barnie(No putting a lid on that!!)

A friend took Ziggie's son Wizard to his first show for me. I've learned that tattoos that make a word are easier for a judge to read, so this rabbit's tattoo was the first part of his name, WIZ. Well, that silly boy got so excited, he sprayed the judge! The judge took it in stride; as he went on with his examination and looked in the ear for the tattoo, he laughed. "I should have looked here first! It's not like I wasn't warned," he said.:gig
Seriously, i never had a baby rabbit pee on me before, and i had them for years in TN!

Epic fail. <sigh> she wrote “Brown horse” because it was sitting right in front of her. She wrote her first and last name. She wrote a lot of words, but nothing that she wanted. Not giving up. She was on Kendra Time.

Being able to write brown horse and her name isn't a fail, some time ago that would have been a miracle. Hang in there Grandma B, she'll do it when she's good and ready :hugs

Oh I know. I didn’t word that very well, did I? I am tickled with every bit of progress she makes, always. The “fail” part was on me - I didn’t follow my plan so she stayed in her own zone. I didn’t get across to her that if she wanted the cookie, I wanted her to write it first. She simply decided the cookie wasn’t worth it. I need to go back to the drawing board - she’s drawing just fine. :idunno
