Wait are veterans day and memorial day the same thing or different?

We have Remembrance Day. It's the same day as veteran's day.
We used to have a minute's silence at 11am. I don't think anywhere does that anymore.
It occurs on November 11th with commemoration at 11 am as that day and time is when hostilities in the first world war formally came to a halt.
As time goes on we use it as a day to not only honour those who fought in WWI but all who have served.

memorial Day is in May and is to remember those that died in war. November 11 is Veterans day and honors all veterans. It was originally Armistice day and was the day that WWI was over

I think memorial day is meant for remembering family members that have passed. Not necessarily from combat.

Then again, I'm not American, so what do I know? Lol

Memorial day started after the Civil war and was called Decoration day. It is to honor those that died while serving. Veterans day is for all veterans.

Many here do use the day to honor others that have died but that is not official.

Why do you think the minute of silence isn't observed anymore???? Radios, schools, many private business, all government business, and of course at every remembrance day ceremony. I've never gone a year without that minute of silence.
