Yep, the 4 x legs have a moat in which you put vegetable oil which will not evaporate as fast as water .... so far, so good!

And that is supposed to be news? I am technically 4b but we are inching our way to 5a. We haven't gone below -20°F for quite a few years.


So inquiring minds want to know: Who lets you out? Do you have your cell phone with you so you can call for assistance? I'd get that string or wire tied to the "trigger" of the latch and run through the wall ASAP. The neighbors might call the cops on your parents for keeping their child in a cage.

Lol, the only reason I even knew to use that term is because I happened to be reading a BYC thread not too long ago where someone was using them for their coop

Here we're supposedly in Zone 4b...but we have this annoying micro-climate so the charts just don't apply accurately.

Okay, guys, I dunno whether to laugh or cry. I wanted to record a little video just before Jenny came to pick up Kendra, but my stupid smart phone said it was full. Huh? There's only 1771 photos and 221 videos on that thing, how can it be full? So after Jenny left I decided to go through them and transfer some, delete others. Things were going fine - then I ran into this little gem. I think it was probably taken in 2016, because she has a set of braces on and her hair was long enough for braids. Anyway, it's a short one - she was standing in the doorway watching the chickens. Something tickled her - just listen to her. The video made me giggle along, but then it hit me how much she enjoyed watching them. Man, do I miss the interaction of the kids with the chickens!

Edited to add: You know, I never caught this before but when she turns to me and says it's cold, do you hear her say "Walk walk, it's cold" or is that wishful thinking on my part? I sure missed hearing it before!

Adorable video Blooie! I love that chuckle! Yep, it does sound like she says “walk, walk, it’s cold” and I thought heard an “I’m cold” before that. Was that a rooster imitation I heard at the beginning?
