How effective is the new shot supposed to be?

This is from the CDC: https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vpd/shingles/public/shingrix/index.html

How Well Does Shingrix Work?
Two doses of Shingrix provides strong protection against shingles and postherpetic neuralgia (PHN), the most common complication of shingles.

  • In adults 50 to 69 years old who got two doses, Shingrix was 97% effective in preventing shingles; among adults 70 years and older, Shingrix was 91% effective.
  • In adults 50 to 69 years old who got two doses, Shingrix was 91% effective in preventing PHN; among adults 70 years and older, Shingrix was 89% effective.
Shingrix protection remained high (more than 85%) in people 70 years and older throughout the four years following vaccination. Since your risk of shingles and PHN increases as you get older, it is important to have strong protection against shingles in your older years.

Good Morning Friends :hugs

I got nuff’n, including Shingles! :p

In ‘be patient’ mode.. I have an application in now with 3 mediscribe companies from which I may hear back in the next 7-14 days; resignation drafted [yep LOL]; thank you to CEO drafted, basically because he is the only management-type I respect and want to thank; sole trader taxation requirements researched and ready to implement.

Other research indicates that I am definitely not going to be on big bucks but luckily we are in a position where the big bucks would be nice but not critical with hubby having a well paid, full time job. However, if I commit and strive, I have the opportunity to beat the average income.

I am actually a little excited about the challenge of this new enterprise and looking forward to being accountable for my decisions and not other people's decisions and receiving reward for effort.
