The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

@Blooie that was wonderful, the music and the photos!

@rjohns39 if you're ever ready to share yours, I'd like to see that also.

@CapricornFarm your poor cat and the penny can :gig
I didn't anticipate the cat moving, i aimed for in front of her! If i was trying to hit her i would have missed!

I believe Cap, I never could throw straight or catch anything. As an 34 yr. old found out I had a near sighted eye and a far sighted eye, which explained a lot. Afterwards I tried shooting (waste) baskets with tennis balls and distance eye - bingo went straight in. Then tried the short eye and missed every time. I'm sure the rotten kids in gym still would have been bullying me anyhow.

Even now if I try to divide a lb. of hamburger in half, the two eyes are never in agreement. I close one eye and mark the meat where I think the middle is. Then repeat closing the other eye. They never decide on the same spot, I'd say they have a 1/2" off either too little or too much.

I did.....cute, cute and cute!

blooie, I loved it... brought tears to my eyes. I have one I made somewhere on my computer, but not ready to share. It was made in recognition of the 56 world experts on dealing with mass violence after 911.

Rarely post here but had to say that is beautiful, Blooie

Thanks. Used to detest that song...now I get irritated when I hear one teeny little bit of it sung only at NYE parties. :barnie

Yep, me too.

I nailed a Ken with a penny can once. Just as I was about to toss it in the vicinity of Molly he got into the line of fire. Oops.

Debby, if I can find it i'll share it. It's here somewhere, just don't know where. Got a kid at work (18 yr old) who thinks 911 is funny. Hard for me to stay quiet as I lost a lot of friends that day. On Aug 31, I was at the bar with one of the NYC fire companies lost on 9/11 in the towers. That day I couldn't get to the office as all highways were closed. But I was an expert with our new phone system... Nextel direct connect. I became command central keeping tabs on our folks at the towers an the pentagon. We got everyone home safe and sound, but I came really close to boxing one of our vault dwellers ears. Last he was seen was running into the burning pentagon... His wife was calling me every five minutes... when he finally showed up at the office, I told him to call his wife. His answer was, "she doesn't expect me home until five so it's ok..." I wanted to hug him and beat him over the head and shoulders at the same time.

tomorrow, I'll take a moment to have a glass of bourbon in honor of those I've lost. Some I've lost in my arms, while others not as close. And all of those due to bad decisions I've made. In my current job, no one dies if I make a bad decision...

I had no idea you were that involved. Bless you. :hugs
