The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

There is a reservation at the east end of my property. One of the band members approached the county about building up this easement in order to gain access to the reservation. The county again said no. So now, they've got 2 unsuspecting suckers that they can get to build it for them (in their eyes anyway).
I don't think the members of the reservations are suckers in the way the council thinks you are. The reservation asked that the road be improved so they have something to gain. In your case you don't give a rat's patootie if they improve the road, you are happy enough with your current access.

Anybody know if there's a limit to how much money you can deposit at once?
Probably a lot more than you have to deposit unless you just robbed a bank or printed a lot of money in the basement ;)

Actually I don't know but for some reason $5K in cash comes to mind as the point where they start getting nervous. If it is a check it could be any amount. Of course they have a hold on most the the amount of a big check until it clears, they don't want to be on the losing end of a bad check.

You can deposit as much as you want. If it is cash, then over $10,000 is reported.

You do not want more than what is insured by the fdic though in each bank. Split to different banks if you go over.

Banks are required to file a Bank Secrecy Act Currency Transaction Report for cash deposits over $10,000. A copy of this form is sent to FinCEN, a division of the U.S. Treasury which is responsible for detecting money laundering and other financial crimes.Apr 10, 2018

$250,000

The standard deposit insurance coverage limit is $250,000 per depositor, per FDIC-insured bank, per ownership category. Deposits held in different ownership categories are separately insured, up to at least $250,000, even if held at the same bank.Jan 31, 2018

Pick a bank that has solid roots and has been in your community for years. If you are getting a checking account, see if you can find one with low or NO fees per check, etc.If it is a savings account, it would be great if you found one that pays interest even if just a tiny amount.
