The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

When we adopted my avatar, vet asked if we wanted the tail cropped... My answer was
"why?" After a long dissertation, my answer was just leave it be. God made it leave it alone... I have to admit that she did a lot of damage with it over the years, but seemed happy to have it. And truth be known I didn't mind the damage...

Exactly! Dogs are designed to have them. Granted, some dogs can injure themselves and end up docked anyway but still.

That's good to know, thanks

Yeah, the seed packets were a ripoff lol

Wow impressive!

I wish I planted cukes or something

You must be a great gardener

Wow that is crazy. Even though the mother is purebred, they're still mutts.

Now, around here $400, $500, even $600 isn't uncommon, most rescues charge that, yes even for mutts, so that's not too terrible to me but asking more than $500 is crazy.

Although even $500 is still high and I wish they didn't charge that much but yeah. Although compared to purebreds it's not bad but still.
Rescues charge $500!?!

She's planning on asking for more $ this time because the mother is pure bred
There is a sucker born every minute.

As KDogg said, the pups are mutts. Doesn't matter if the mother was the national champion of the breed 10 years running, Dad was a "nothing" and the pups are worth nothing for show or breeding. As best one would expect to pay no more than the cost to raise the pups to about 8 weeks and maybe a bit more for the time put in raising them.

I can relate... I had a greyhound who wagged his tail and sliced a glass cleanly in half that was sitting on the coffee table.
Hey Mom, wanna see a magic trick??

Yup! Not all of them but a lot of them are between $400 and $500. They do have all of their shots and are fixed though (yes they even fix puppies) but still. They ship a lot of dogs up from the south so that's including transportation cost but still crazy. The often ship them up on big trucks. Puppies cost more.

Maybe because they are of "use" only for competition so no one wants anyone to know how they get the massive pumpkin that wins a blue ribbon? Or maybe not, I really don't know.
Actually Bruce, your right! Not only is $$$ involved but bragging rights, too!

Yeah, Great Danes should have their tails docked....if you have ever been clipped by a Dane' s tail as it ran by at 40mph you'll, agree! :lau
