The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Blooie, break it out and have fun. I haven't played in years. My ambusher is probably totally gone, but I can still have fun. I remember my neighbor's daughter took up the sax and was practicing on the deck. Neighbor was all concerned: "Is she bothering you..." DD pulled hers out and we took turns sharing toons with her. I'm fairly eclectic when it comes to music. Haven't heard much of anything I don't like. I love jazz, but am pretty bad at it... But then again, I probably haven't played in 20+ years.

I had no idea you all were so musically talented, I'm impressed!

At one time or another I've had lessons in the clarinet, flute and guitar but nothing "stuck". As far as the guitar lessons, I took those the longest but mainly because I had a crush on the tutor (I was only 13 and he was 18...an older man :lau).

I always wanted to take lessons but we could never afford that. So I just kinda sorta learned. Guitar tablature made it really easy for a beginner and I think those small successes were the biggest help to plugging along. We could start our own band here.... Those who don't play can sing, those who can't sing can beat wooden spoons on a pot, and those who don't want do any of that can pretend it's rap and pay us for sounding bad!!

Is that a "Gibson" mandolin, Blooie? Great assortment of instruments you have there!
