The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Morning DMC, oooh, I envy you, love me some sweet corn! :love
husband likes corn too, but it seems like everytime he plants corn, right before its ripe a storm comes and pushes it over to the ground so for years we haven't planted corn, this year i bought some seeds for him to try again, instead of planting in rows, he planted in a small circle, six or eight stalks , no storm has knocked them down yet and i think some are about ready to pick, But not very fat ears , but corn is corn no matter how big the ears are:D bread and butter

Morning :frow

Got a nice surprise yesterday...my nephew and mom popped in for lunch. They were driving from Cheyenne to nw WY.

Cap, my eyes aren't what they used to be either. I was checking expiration dates on stored foods yesterday and kept having to get a 2nd opinion

Bruce, no lamb for the Cattlemen's Association...those are strictly brisket folks! And sauce, and potato salad, and smokehouse beans. I'm going to be one tired, relieved puppy by the time they pick up everything tomorrow afternoon.

DMC, I'm with Sean...love sweet corn! It might be worth getting knee deep to get it!
:drool

It's nice to get unexpected company when it's someone you like. I love brisket! September 1st is right around the corner and then you can relax a bit. I can take sweet corn or leave it. My husband is a nut for it.

We used to grow our own but for a couple years it just didn't produce right. This friend grows a field of it and gives it away, he's very generous!

Hi everyone
I know some of you will once again laugh, but temps are predicted to reach 36 (96.8F) by Friday. That's completely unheard of here. Things are also pretty smoky. The smoke from fires in British Columbia has made it over the Rockies. So far breathing isn't too bad, just really hazy.

Knocked the chimney out of the house today in preparation for the big move! They'll be loading it up on Monday and moving it first thing on Tuesday. A friend of ours gave us an idea for a way to get our building permit. Since we can't afford to put the addition on right now, but there is going to be a pad built there, we're just going to classify it as a deck for now.

Our hay got cut yesterday. Should be bailed within the next day or two (the guy that's cutting it prefers green instead of letting it dry), so that should give us a little bit of cash.

The house in the city sale closes next Friday.

Hope everybody is doing great.

Hubby said record breaking heat in NS while he was there this year. MIL hates the heat, poor dear.
