well my morning just went south in a hurry... Something inside my bator just went POP

how far along are the eggs? thats one sound i hope i never hear, heres hoping for you that all the rest are ok

we're six days away from lock down. Gotta figure out which tray it's in... I tossed over a dozen during last candle, must have missed one. Just be glad we don't have smeller net.

Doesn't make much difference about the age of the egg....if bacteria gets into the shell, it will multiple quickly and the expanding gases will make the egg explode. Doesn't necessarily mean it's an old egg.

This will be the third one to pop on this batch. Pulled everything out last time cleaned as best I could, tossed eggs that were likely infected from the spray... will do it again.

Actually the ones you hear are better than the ones you don't...i've had plenty over the years that cracked at the point where they make contact with the turner. Can't see it and didn't hear it but a few days later you can sure smell it!

Sounds like you have a bacterial invasion going on, from the 1st egg exploding. Sorry about your situation.

It's kind of funny what we understand in this world compared to those who don't raise birds... I mentioned to a friend at work that I needed to candle eggs and boy was she perplexed.

yea and this is kind of a hail marry pass on ducks. Lost a bunch when the fence went down so trying to replenish.
