Yes, I've definitely been looking at sheep that shed their own wool. A friend of my Mums has Demara sheep and that's often crossed with a Wiltshire here to make a 'Meatmaster' sheep. I do like the Demara sheep as they are very pretty with their colours and patterns.
believe me its well worth it not to have to find someone who shears, our clippers would always gum up, it was easier to find someone who would do it for us and also take the wool the one man had the clipper like they use in aus. but he moved so we lost him and it was also nice not to have to band the tails. if we ever get sheep again, it will be the hair sheep

We got word yesterday we'll have a good sized group for lunch tomorrow (Fri) so today is going to be non-stop smoking and prep work. Plus they want dessert:rolleyes:

Mine are potbelly's we got them for practice before getting into mule foot hogs. They were supposed to go to the processor this month but the litter changed things...

:eek: wilbur is a juliane we think, or maybe a cross with potbelly but since i can't eat anything that i've raised and made a pet of, hes safe
