The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Sean, Not long after I moved to TN I encountered one of these random conversations... Mind you there is no way to get by and I don't want to be the new rude guy... So I put my truck in park, got out and wondered up to them and introduced myself to them as the new guy... After about 50 questions, we're all hanging out on the bed of a pickup chatting away. Then a less patient car came along so the guy in oncoming lane pulled his truck to the side. We were probably there close to an hour just getting to know one another. It was strange but nice all at the same time. I can also say that I've learned more listening to old timers while leaning on the bed of the truck, than from any book I've ever read.

Happy Anniversary to you both (and a gorgeous couple you make)! True love is a wonderful thing.
Thank you Jae:hugs
Thanks Bob:hugs

I love the elderly. I too have learned a lot from them.

It’s hard to see in this picture but this lady must have stalled out in the intersection and she was pushing her car out of the way and this young man was walking and saw her and pushed her too safety. It was very busy in that intersection.

Sounds nice lol

Do any of you guys also do the Midwest goodbye or the "ope"? Heard both of those are common lol

Midwest goodbye being where you say goodbye, see you later, gotta go, whatever but then you talk for like another hour, say goodbye 50 times, can't leave (or hang up) lol

Ope being like ope excuse me/ope right behind you/ope coming through lol

I finally got moved in on the 2nd of july here. and first thing I discover is my AC is dead. So I go to walmart on the 4th to buy fans. On the way home truck just dies. I have a bunch of folks stop and try to help with no avail... then there's the group who stopped and left water as it was so hot. Neighbor showed up and took the fans and left them in my driveway but also found a shop that would take my truck same day. In the DC area you were lucky if a state cop stopped by to see how you were doing. Turned out to be a fuel pump. fixed and on my way home.... AC company came back and got the old (1988) system working with a quote for a new system, minus what I paid for service. All of this on a holiday would never happen in the dc metro area.

25 years ago today I married my best friend and I’d do it again today!:)
Awww :D
Happy Anniversary!!! Have a Margarita on me!!
PM me and I'll give you @Blooie's address so you can send her the bill. :p

Looks like we are going to get hit by both Joyce in the next few days and Isaac sometime next week.
Doesn't look like Issac is going to be problem for you. Current track shows it running right along the 15th parallel to Nicaragua and Honduras.

I don't do cities.

edited to add: 'willingly'. The Princess insists on periodically dragging me out of my rut - soon to happen
I don't know Sour, I think you are starting to look a bit sickly. Better play it safe and stay home.

And Wally world is a social gathering place.
That's because we don't have good old country stores anymore!

All of this on a holiday would never happen in the dc metro area.
It could happen here but it would cost a small fortune on a holiday.

Thanks Cap! In my family 9 out of 11 siblings divorced, 2 of which remarried their cheating spouses. :heWe just celebrated by vacationing in the Black Hills. We’ll be home in about 1.5 hours. We’ve had alot of road time the last few days and I’m not used to sitting that long. It was fun though!
Sounds great, a vacation would be nice!
