DW was amazed to see the waving in Southern VA, the rural communities and in Tennessee. Sean you beat me to it... In the DC area folks wave but in the fashion sean suggests Another thing folks do here, can be annoying—but is also kind of neat. They see a friend they haven't chatted with in a while and they'll both stop and have a conversation right there in the two lane road. And Wally world is a social gathering place.

wally world is the only place we can see all the neighbors any more since everyone is so busy with life, who has time to go visit anymore?

Unfortunately, yes it does. My brother was just recently divorced. He was married close to 30 years. They get along better now

Lol sometimes in my neighborhood, people pull over and chat to each other too. They usually move when someone's behind them though lol but I'll wave to walkers, people with dogs, whatever, usually zero response. And sometimes people don't even wave thank you when you let them go but I don't care about that so much. And I guess I don't so much mind walkers waving back, maybe it is considered weird or creepy nowadays. But I mind when they give you dirty looks for doing it. Lol no need for that. And one time I held the door for this lady at Panera Bread and she just walked right by me and didn't even say anything. Didn't even look at me.

It’s hard to see in this picture but this lady must have stalled out in the intersection and she was pushing her car out of the way and this young man was walking and saw her and pushed her too safety. It was very busy in that intersection.
