The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Wow Sean, that sucks big time. Are they going to do any bone density testing or something. Just isn't right for it to snap on its own.

Buffalo Bill Dam! Missed Debby and Frankenfoot by an hour. We got to Cody just after they left.
Clearly Debby didn't plan very well!!

Takes her about 10 miles to settle down back there - only 40 more miles to go.
I bet she gets faster at that once she figures out nothing bad is happening until you abandon her at the boarding facility

But they don't really edit the background too much I don't think, do they?
No, not the background. And sure if you are in the city you will see palm trees and such because they were planted there. But if you want to see what grows without all the water brought down from the north (because a century or so ago, people in the So. Cal deserts bought the water rights from up north), look at the hills. There are trees in the mountains. Some are spectacular like the giant Sequoias and the Redwoods.

She weighs in at a respectable 90 pounds right now. She’s definitely a big girl. But she’s a love!

Oh wow that's big! Libby is 70 right now and probably won't get much bigger, although she is only 10 months so who knows. She has gotten taller recently. All legs now. Franklin is 30 but they think he has gained 5 or so pounds even just in 5 days. They think he was also really dehaydrated when they first weighed him cause he was on the truck for 3 days and drank a lot of water and now he drinks a lot of water every day and of course good food so he has gained some weight. But still. He's 14 weeks. So 30ish pounds at 14 weeks. But he is also pretty skinny and underweight, can feel all his ribs, and I guess when they bathed him he looked way smaller. Gaining weight though. But they are definitely way smaller than Fiona. Gator was 147 earlier this year but I think he's lost weight since then. He definitely needs to lose more. He's not like round or obese or anything, can still feel his ribs and see a tuck and waist and stuff, but I just think it'd be better to be at least 10 pounds less. He's a bit chunky. But still a big boy either way, always has been. But he's also 6 1/2 so of course he's bigger than her. I would have to look to see how much he weighed at that age though.

Dummy me didn't realize maybe they were planted :lau

Oh, Sean....that is not what I like to read! Hugs, my friend!! Keep us updated. We’ll be heading for our Cheyenne stint tomorrow but even when I don’t post, I read.

Yeah, that doggone Debby! What are the odds she’d get to come up here twice and I’d miss her both times!

Supposed to snow here tonight. Been snowing off and on in the Big Horns all day, and they could see 8 inches up there by morning. Think we’ll go to Cheyenne the long way.

After living in San Diego for 9 or 10 years, I gotta say that when I think Sann Diego the first thing that pops into my head is concrete. <sigh> Our whole family hates beaches, so while we took visitors to the beach we avoided it for our own activities. We spent more time in the mountains... fishing on Lake Jenny, Apple festival in Julian, hiking, that sort of thing...just to see something other than grey. We also enjoyed exploring the desert area during 5he cooler months. The only thing the kids and Ken and I really loved was the year-round school there. Oh, Tam, Terri and Kenny moaned and groaned when they first realized it, but before the first year was out they were all totally sold on it. They still talk about it. For a brief time it was on the table here, and we praised it big time, but folks weren’t having any part of it in this ranching community. Their loss...until you’ve experienced it, I guess you can’t appreciate it.

Jae, any news on the house, or did I miss it?
