Tramadol messed me up, they said i could take it at work for back pain. Made the room spin and i was writing backwards! No thanks!
It doesn't have any of those effects on me. It just makes the pain disappear with no side effects. :D

x100! When do you go back to the doc Sean? If things get too bad, call them now!
Yeah, he told me if anything goes south to call him on his cell phone, not the office. It will be another week before I go in for a post op visit.
Right now, it's just alot of swelling, from all the trauma the muscles have sustained from dragging myself to my phone and the manipulation during x-rays and surgery. I got my whole leg packed in ice, right now. The incisions are still weeping but not bad.
The pain goes away after taking the drugs or if I'm asleep. So really no different than anyother break I've had, except there's 20 times the amount of pain this time. It's really amazing how all the muscles are connected to each....if I cough, it sends shock waves of pain through my leg. Never really noticed it before...just wasn't that tuned into how the pain came about, I guess?

Hopefully the bones will heal this time!

Do you have osteoporosis?

I don't think so, it would show up in the x-rays if I did, and it isn't showing up but the doc is going to send me to an endocrinologist, so I'll find out for sure.
I think the bone was severely weakened by the screws used in the first surgery, good grief, they are 6" long and as big as a pencil in diameter. Total of 3 were used so, it had to have had to play some part in this break. It snapped just below where the screws were inserted.

Men can get para thyroid (This is not the thyroid) tumors that will weaken bones. If you blood calcium test is between 10 and 12, that would weaken your bones

Yep, he did say that my calcium levels were lower than the last time.
This kind of fracture is the hardest to heal. When the femur breaks below the node it doesn't heal very well.
