Ron you mean the previous fires weren't bad enough? October is worse???:barnie
Yes! The bad one last year in Sonoma was in October. 4 of the 5 biggest and deadliest fires were in October

How are you Sean? How are the birds doing? My guinea showed up yesterday with only 2 keets, lost 5 during the big storm we had. Made me sad for her, she called for them all day.

My experience with Guinea fowl is that they have been very poor parents. In a warmer, dryer climate perhaps they do better, but with mine keets always ended up chilled and dying.

I'm doing fine or at least as well as can be expected, birds are all doing great, actually made it down to look at them yesterday and wore myself out, got sick at my stomach, thought I was going to pass out but didn't...my neighbor was feeding them at the time and had to help me back into the house. :lau sorry to hear about your keets. I remember my guineas...I absolutely got to a point of hating them :lau

I wish i could have had her raise her babies in the coop. But it is full of this years guineas. Seems like she was trying so hard to be a good mom.

My girls were doing the egg song this morning, or so I thought, but when I went out to refill feed and give them some treats, nada. They did it again on my way back in too. Meanies! LOL

I did give them a pep talk though and maybe mentioned how my dad wants to turn them into soup but I could never do that to them but I DO need eggs for pies and how I had to use gross store eggs for the last ones so they better start producing. And of course said how great their eggs were compared to the store ones :P

I'm only slightly crazy :lau

But after the pep talk they did an egg song and I thought wow that was fast!!
