We shot up north to have a look at some pieces of land but none really grabbed us (a lot of work clearing thistle and dead gorse). But we stopped to look in a land agents window and spotted one that might work. It's had pines on it that have been cleared but it's cheap enough that we could put a house on it very comfortably and still have money in the bank to develop the land. So we may have to shoot up again next week. It was too late by the time we saw it to go and take a look yesterday as we'd left the kids with my parents and we would've got back really late.

It's cold down here too.

I had 9 and they would roost on the roof of the house every night, actually, about 4:30 every afternoon they would start to roost. All of them squawking jibber-jabby loud enough to wake the dead. :he Then they began a game of "red rover" and ran to and from one end of the roof to the other, oh I didn't mention, the house had a tin roof! :barnie

I've always thought a tin roof would be kind of cool but then I also worry the sound of rain or stuff falling on it would annoy me. But probably not, I'd probably enjoy hearing the rain. We thought about putting a tin roof on the chicken coop but my dad said it'd be too loud for them.
