I wouldn't call that a boot, more like crocks and also wouldn't call that backless, it has a back, just small. :idunno
The boots I ware come up to my knees.
yes, my barn boots go up to the mid calf and water proof, and not bad in snow either, nothing worse than busting the rear- end trying to get to the barn to feed, slipping and sliding :hmm

You take it easy. :hugs

They are Eastern Rosellas which have naturalised here but they aren't in great enough numbers to be considered a pest (unlike Rainbow Lorikeets which they had to eradicate). We have a small flock round where we are at the moment and I love hearing and seeing them. Occasionally they come and feed on our back lawn.
(not a great photo because I had to take it from inside as they are shy but here's two of our resident birds):

I was thinking how much I was going to miss them. So seeing all those birds had me sold (plus the property smelt like Christmas because of all the recently chopped down pines). We're going up again tomorrow unless there is some disaster at DH's work. Fingers crossed!
i've had those before, two true pairs. loved the whistles so beautiful:love, so are all the grass keets and too's

Even with good boots on, when I lived in the cold country (North Texas) I still busted my rear many times during the winter months on my way to feed.

I had a friend in NS that bred those. She was old then, likely she is no longer with us. They are such beautiful birds!
