The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I suspect it would be better to pay professionals to keep you anonymous and manage $500 million, not something we mere mortals would do well at.

I can't even imagine how I would spend $500M. Even if it was stuck in a bank at .5% it would still return $500K a year.

Someone who didn't have animals anymore and just didn't want to deal with it? Could be someone inherited the farm and are cleaning out. I wonder how musty moldy that stuff is.

Sorry that happened Jae. Better send that boy to parenting class.

Very true!! I wouldn't have a clue how to manage it. Although I figured you could just put it in a bank and leave it? But regularly banks probably won't touch it. Probably need a special bank. And speaking of the anonymous thing, I did find an article about a guy that's cashed like 5 tickets this year and people are like how do you keep winning? Cause they take a picture every time. Well, he doesn't keep winning. It's not his. He is a lawyer and these people made trusts. Apparently in the US there are only 6 states that allow you to remain anonymous (MA is not one of them) BUT in like 4 states including MA you can make a trust and as long as a representative of the trust goes public you can do it that way and stay anonymous. So they would release his picture and the trust name to the public, not yours or your info. A couple states you can stay anonymous if you can prove a high risk of harm by going public. Well... I think going public that you won over 1 billion dollars or even 500 million would be a VERY high risk for harm.

And very true. That is a lot of money. And a lot to earn every year. And at 5 percent it would be even more. Though it's likely impossible to get at 5%.

I don't know what I would do with it either though. Probably buy everyone houses first or maybe pay off all our credit card debt first and then buy myself my farm and/or all the animals I've always wanted. Or maybe move to Pittsburgh a few years first cause I still want to. Maybe buy the farm and still move to/live in Pittsburgh. And of course do the dog training school. And go to concerts. But even with all of that it'd probably still be less than a million or maybe only 2 or 3 million at max so I'd have nooooo clue what to do with the rest. Granted animal care may cost a lot but not more than a few thousand I would imagine. Even at 20,000 or 50,000 a year, I'd be making way more than I would be spending.

And hm, that could be. They probably did inherit it but yeah, sounds nastyyyy lol and I don't get why they are even advertising it instead of just using it themselves or trashing it.

:barnie Quail! The male that's in with my girl who had babies hatching today (who was parent raised himself so should be the perfect father) went on a rampage and killed 3 chicks. I've managed to save 3 and the other two eggs that are yet to hatch are under little Waddles who loves raising babies despite being disabled (slipped tendon as a chick). She's just started brooding some eggs so I'm hoping she'll transfer her affections to these new ones that are in more of a hurry than hers. Once (if) they hatch I'll try and give her the other 3 (who may have to go to my parents with the kids and dog tomorrow seeing as we have an open home while we are up north). :th
That is very sad!

It is good that you saved some though
