The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I think it was like two feet wide and you accessed it through the master bedroom. also only one bath that was added in the 70s, but bonus was the workshop under the house. Low ceilings, but concrete floor and entire foot print of the house. The last owner used it as a pantry and sewing room, so lots of shelves.

Morning Debby, DMC and all :frow
Hi Bob!
Good morning DMC!

When you said 4 stories, I thought "all those stairs". :( You did a lot to your house!

We will do as much of the work ourselves as we can. DH can do plumbing, some electrical, carpentry and we both can paint and do landscaping. I'm also a good tool finder and cleaner-upper of DH's messes so that's probably going to be my biggest job
Let the fun begin:DWe did more to the house but I was windy enough. Yes, our old house had all them stairs. I loved that house.

Cap you would have loved the house that we looked at and almost went with when buying this one. It was a Victorian built in 1901 on 50 acres. It had mostly cleared pasture on 25 acres and two barns. Also had a spring house and a systern building.

That would have been a great place, it sounds lovely!

Have you had to do a lot of work to your house Bob?

No. Fortunately it was a turn key. So far only had to replace the main water line. We did replace a door and add a storm door as well, but that was more for security reasons. We had someone trying to break in while we were back in VA.

Glad they weren't successful...hope you don't have any more of that kind of problem.

Nope. Neighbor made it go away. According to the guy who cut my lawn while I was away she was quite intimidating. I installed wi-fi security cameras that she could see and get alerts on her phone. Most of the alerts were deer, but every now and again human. We got the alerts too, but being more than 12 hours away wasn't helpful.

Sounds like you have some good neighbors!

Years ago when I lived in KS, the neighbor across the street saw someone break into our house and leave with items under his arm. She didn't mention it to anyone until I ran into her a couple days later, no phone call to the police, nothing.
