The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Awww - that's so awesome to hear! :clap

Hope your back is feeling a little better Blooie. :hugs
X’s 2!!
Phew - I've finally caught up. I'm sick of open homes but we are now being mucked around by the council. We've had the final building inspection on our house, which we passed just fine, but now it's all the paper work 'stuff' that the coucil want (that DH has repeatedly asked if they needed it - took it along to their offices and offered it). But no, they wait until we are 5 weeks in and chasing them up on when our Code of Compliance will be granted to suddenly decide they need all the paperwork, despite the fact that everything was signed off as needed along the way by various building inspectors. :barnie

We've had to take our half blind, deaf cat to the vet. I was so worried because she can be a little hellion when she wants to be and her bite is a lot worse than her bark (hiss)! She was an absolute angel, calm on the car ride in, curious about where she was, ok with letting the vet (who is wonderful) look at her sore eye, and even going to sleep on the way home. Not one scratch or bite - just a couple of very soft, quiet hisses. But she had cat flu as a kitten (she was dumped at DH's work one day) and unfortunately that's come back and she's got an abscess on her eye which we are hoping will come right with eye drops and medication, because it's her good eye that she can (could) see out of and if it gets worse she'll lose the eye. So another :barniefrom me! :fl it comes right. Wish us luck dosing her with eye drops and medicine. She might not be so accommodating with having eye drops 3 times a day and 2 kinds of medicine once a day.
Poor kitty! Good luck!

Saw this at one of my jobs yesterday in the laundry room. At first I thought it was fake. I poked it with my duster to make sure and it didn’t move so thought wow thats a realistic fake snake. So of course I had to poke at it again to make sure and then I saw the tail twitch. When owner got home I said there’s a snake in your laundry room...he looked at me like yeah right. He found it behind a laundry basket and said oh it’s just a baby. I of course responded with I hope it wasn’t a pregnant snake and that was only one of them. Yuck!!

View attachment 1572195 Okay, this is huge for us! As most of you know, Kendra not only has SB, but she is also developmentally delayed, Autistic, and non- communicative. Today her dad brought her home from school and she headed for her room. Jenny wasn’t home from work yet, and Kenny was sitting on the couch. They keep a Sterilite drawer thingy in her room with her catheters and enema supplies. So Kenny heard her thumping (only way to describe what it sounds like when she crawls in her AFOs) down the hall to the living room. She pulled herself up, put an Enema kit in Kenny’s lap, and clearly said, “Enema, Mommy.” She knew what she needed, what it took to do it, who does it, and she ASKED for it!!! I can’t even tell you how full my heart is right now! (Pic just because it’s cute)

That is a cute picture of Kendra! That's so cool about her finding what she needed and asking for it...there's a lot going on up there in that pretty little noggin!

I feel for you Jae on the paperwork! Ours is probably different paperwork, but either yours or mine, it's all a mountain of forms. Hang in there, you'll get through it. What was decided about that piece of land you guys went back to look at?

Sorry about your cat, hope she'll be better soon!

Morning DMC :frow

Looks like maybe a little garter snake? That must have been a surprise seeing one in the shower (but they're harmless). You aren't going to have trouble going back to that house are you? :p

Hi Debby! I’m not scared of snakes but finding one in the house messed with my head a bit. It was a garter. I’m sure one of the kids left a door open too long.

My boys used to bring them into the house quite often . They were always excited when they could "catch and release" something from outside.

That was good training for me when the oldest ended up with a Burmese Python for a pet.
