The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

We decided that bit of land was just too difficult and steep to get a truck carrying a new house onto. And because it's clay soil there it would've been real 'fun' getting around the property in winter. So the hunt continues.

Kitty was not impressed at having to take medicine. She's got a super sensitive nose so she could smell it coming. We have to wrap her up in a towel to dose her (I have 3 big scratches on my wrist where I tried just holding her while DH attempted to get the medicine anywhere near her).
Hang in there, JaeG you'll find a place that will suit you to a T. Hope Kitty gets better and you don't get scratched up anymore!

I hope you find a place! Moving into summer down there will help

Grab the head over the top and tip it up.... they open up naturally... Aim the pill for the V int the back of the tongue...

I have had two male cats with renal disease. sigh... No more cats for me... Vet taught me how.

It's 2 lots of liquid we have to give her which is somewhat easier (but probably smellier to her very sensitive nose, seeing as she's half blind and deaf). She's on a pain killer and an antibiotic (only once a day), then there's the eye drops 3 times a day.

Sorry she got you!

I'll survive and I adore her so I understand. It's her bite that's way worse than her scratching. Not having siblings she had no one to teach her bite inhibition. So we avoid the teeth at all cost, especially when she is not amused by what we are doing to her! I'm just very thankful the vet got off unscathed.

Got leather gloves? Might help.

She pulled herself up, put an Enema kit in Kenny’s lap, and clearly said, “Enema, Mommy.”
Yea! And, um, does Kenny now have a gender identification issue?

@Jae, you have to have inspections and such to SELL a house? Wow. Here it is the buyer that pays for the inspection and that is after making the initial offer, purchase contingent on the inspection.

It's to finally sign off all the renovations we did - that everything was done as it should be. It's not essential to sell the house but people like that reassurance. It's just so annoying that at certain points in the renovation we had to have a council inspector here to sign off before we could move onto the next phase, so why do we now have to submit all the stuff they looked at and signed off on (plus stuff that we had to submit for the initial consent to even be allowed to move the house onto the property that they should have on record)?!

We've had the final building inspection and passed that and the inspector said they might need to see some of the stuff he looked over. DH had taken the folder in and asked them when he picked up the form to fill out if they needed to see any of that stuff and was told to just fill out the form as the building inspector would need to see all that on site. I would've expected someone to contact us for those things in the first couple of weeks maybe if they needed to see them, not 5 weeks down the track (when we actually chased them up about where it was at), when it's all supposed to be done in 60 days, otherwise we have to start all over again. Plus we'll have to pay them to get the Code of Compliance once it is issued. Honestly - it's no wonder they never get anything done when it's run so inefficiently. :barnie sums it up pretty nicely!

That stuff is very silly! It it common there?

Not sure how other councils are but in Auckland it's all too common. Auckland was split up into 6 different regions then someone had the 'brilliant' idea of amalgamating them all into one 'super city'. Needless to say that hasn't worked out so well. We think they've lost all our records in the switch over which is why they suddenly need to see them.
