The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Growing up in Kansas, we saw our share of tornadoes so I have a healthy respect for them. The worst I saw was in June 1966, a F5 ripped through our town. There's actually an article about it in Wikipedia if anyone want to see:

Some of you may recognize the name Bill Curtis, he was our local news reporter and it was his warning, "For God's sake, take cover", that saved a lot of lives. We lived at the bottom of a hill and saw the tail go over our house and slam into the top of the hill. Our house had mud and straw embedded into the wood siding but others weren't so lucky. So much devastation, it looked like a bomb had hit. It cut a huge swath right through town.

You can bet I've always paid close attention to storm warnings.

But wait, you weren't born in 66 right?;)

BTW, I hate earthquakes. There's no predicting them and you never see them coming. Last one I went through DW was in the tub. Just not a happy camper.
It is odd, living in California I have only felt one earthquake.

There could be a big one here at anytime though

we went to several cars before she started whispering “Trick or Treat”, with prompting. Then it took a couple more before she stopped turning around and handing her loot to me or Jenny and was putting in her own bag. By the end of the night, she was saying “Happy Halloween” instead of Trick or Treat, but that was okay too.
That is FABULOUS Blooie!!!! :love

We’re supposed to get freezing rain here this afternoon. I’d far rather have a full scale snowstorm than that.
Oh yeah. Nothing so nice as rain that turns into a skating rink when it hits the ground!

he also knows if he was in the same predicament, I'd be doing things for him....I helped him out a few years ago when he was incapacitated. :highfive:

long time ago tornado's scare me alot more than hurricanes
At least you get enough warning with hurricanes that you can run and hide somewhere they won't be. With tornados the warning is not much more than enough to "duck and cover"

The one paper that made me laugh was the one I had to sign promising not to use the home loan to fund terroristic activities or money laundering.

What decent terrorist or money launderer would refuse to sign that :gig
:thI don't think we had one of those when we got the loan for this house in 2011.

The honest ones of course!

Must be you don't live near one of the fault lines. Felt them with some frequency growing up just south of L.A. Even had a couple here though not big enough to cause any damage.

It was fun. It was hard to hear her because she whispered. I took a video but you can see her lips moving, but can’t really hear her.

Ain’t that the truth!!!

Won’t work with the one I’ve got. <sigh> I could have handled just about anything until she called Kendra “that retarded crippled kid”. Um, any chance for rebuilding a neighborly relationship ended at that moment.

Had to edit. My first responses were blended into your entire quote so you couldn't see them! Now they are in bold!
