The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I forgot to come on here yesterday to wish Debby a Happy Birthday. :frow Hopefully you had a good day.

I stopped following this thread a bit ago because I couldn't keep up, but I still look in occasionally. I'm a slow going country girl and this thread is like the big city where stuff move too fast for me and makes me dizzy. :th

Always love to see your posts. Understand the speed of the thread.:th

True, it hardly merits the mention:D

It's about -10c today. Supposed to make it up to freezing tomorrow. We just got a freezing rain warning for tonight. I hope it doesn't happen. If it does, they may have to delay the house setting again. :(

:fl:fl:fl:fl Hoping for no delay...

KD you'll love this one, My meat birds won't eat feed off the floor. If it gets kicked out, it's gone, doesn't exist. Saturday they are moving to 48" troughs.

None of my birds will eat off of the floor either.

spoiled drama birds Rob!

Last visitation of this trip is tonight’s visit to Hulett, 10 miles past Devil’s Tower! Then home for 2 days! I’m pooped!
TWO whole days? What WILL you do with all that "relaxing" time?
How is your back?????
:hugs

The new design.
That will work, though they won't be able to get to the bottom. Maybe a 1 pint cottage cheese or sour cream container?

last picture, you can see quite a lot thrown out around the bowl already.
Don't put so much in. They only pick up so much in a day.

The baluttie thread is even faster than here :th
I KNOW!! I bailed on that one about a week after I started reading it. No way I could keep up.

Then there’s a photo of downtown Hulette.
Kept the 19th Century western look I see.

I have a float inside the bucket that regulates the flow of water. It is the best system I have had yet and I made it myself
Good for non freezing areas, or in non freezing times in places where we have to drain and bring in the hoses for the winter.

Yeah, I thoughr about cutting a hole in the side so they could get to the bottom but then it would just all pour out, right? We have a lot of cottage cheese containers right now (idk why we have so much cottage cheese :lau) so maybe I'll finish one of those and use one. That would probably work a lot better. And still last a decent amount of time.

And well, I was putting a lot in so that it lasts a long time and I have to change it less often but honestly that's stupid anyway cause usually it just gets wet or poopy anyway and then they don't like eating it. Putting a little bit less in is probably a much better idea. Especially if I'm also going to have a container in the coop. Although I do tend to sometimes fill it past the top line which I think is how she throws so much out. She is just a weird chicken though. She's the one that dunks her whole beak in/pecks at the water to drink.

Yeah, it can be pretty hard to keep up there!! I try to though but sometimes I end up giving up lol

Didn't even think about the hose thing
