The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I've already offered to bake and the boss seemed interested. Right now dessert is just pie bought at the grocery store :sick

Maybe if you took the boss a couple of samples of what you can do, he'll want some for the restaurant.

When I have desserts for our restaurant, even people that didn't plan on having it generally buy some. A restaurant can make a tidy profit off dessert alone, the difference between the cost of making vs. what can be charged is a pretty good return.

And the house made desserts will likely be substantially better than grocery store ... though I suppose in a small town the things in the bakery at the store might be house made as well. But if the Boss is paying Michelle to work and that includes baking, the cost of the dessert ingredients will be much less than the cost of a store bought item. More profit for the restaurant :D

Speak REALLY SOFTLY so that second ear has to come up to hear you :lau
I think it is not uncommon for one ear to raise and stay up before the other. If you end up with one up, one down, the dog just looks like it is being quizzical :D

Good morning all! Just about ready to leave for Sheridan. Going today instead of tomorrow. We were going to drive to Sheridan at 5 am tomorrow morning, but after the trip we had Sunday night he decided discretion is the better part of valor so we’re going today and spending an extra night there. It’s another foggy day down here in the Basin, so let’s hope that the mountains are above the fog layer.

When my real Dad’s side of the family gets together for Christmas, they rent the National Guard Amory in Luverne, Minnesota. Christmas Day was also Gramma Graces’s birthday, so they celebrate both. I think I mentioned once that she and Grampa had 13 children, 3 sets of twins) all but my dad are still living, and the minimum sized families they each had were 6, (my dad being the exception, since he and Ma just had Linda and me before he died of leukemia) and all of their kids had several kids each, and so on, and so on......

I think I posted this over on another thread (if it was this one, my apologies for the duplication) but this is my family taken at Thanksgiving. This was at Linda’s house just a month before her aneurysm, which she suffered late Christmas night, and there are 31 of us missing, including all of my immediate family.

So if I ever have to host a family get-together, I’m paying the $50.00 and renting our Log Gym! This ought to hold ‘em all!

What a fun family B!

I think your log gym could be stuffed if everyone could get together! I remember you writing about that gym before...such a cool building :)

Have a safe trip to Sheridan :frow

Wow you have a very big family!! I think my uncle has a big family but I've never met them cause its the other side of the family. But I don't think it's quite that big. Though I don't know.

My mom's side is bigger than my dad's side but neither is anywhere near as big as you guys' families.

On my mom's side, there are my nana and grandpa and they have 4 kids (my mom, her 2 sisters, and her brother). My mom's brother never had any kids but is married. I think they tried but were never successful, I'm not sure. But no cousins from them. One of my mom's sisters has one son. He's still in high school. My mom's other sister has 3 kids (a son and two daughters). Of those 3 kids, their son still hasn't found "the one" yet (but I'm sure he will), the other two are married. One has 3 kids (7, almost 4, and 2, two boys and the youngest is a girl) and the other one has 2 kids. She's the one I just posted about that just had their second child. Their first is 2. She and my other cousin's daughter were actually born only like a few hours apart, my cousin went to visit her sister in the hospital and then went into labor too. I just checked and and my one cousin had hers September 17th 2016 and 11:22pm and the other cousin had hers at 5:37pm the next day, the 18th. So I guess that's like 18 hours apart. My cousin was glad she just missed midnight because she didn't want them to share a birthday lol slightly competitive I guess. :lau but it's also her first kid. But they did have rooms next to each other and they actually live pretty close to each other so they see each other often and the girls are growing up sort of more like sisters than cousins. But anyway, so that's all my mom's siblings and then of course there is our family which is my parents and then me and my two brothers so 3 kids. None of us have kids yet.

So I guess that puts our family at what? Like 25? That's including all of us and FSIL. So without us included that's only 19.

My dad's side of the family is much smaller.

My grandma only had two kids, my dad and his older brother. My dad's father passed away when my dad was 18 so I never knew him. My grandma passed away 3 years ago. My dad's brother has 3 kids (two daughters and a son). Two have no kids and I don't even know if they have significant others. The oldest daughter is married and has two children. Their daughter is 5 and their son is turning 8 the end of this month.

So that's only 8 on that side.

FSIL has one brother and her two parents. I'm not sure about any cousins or anything on her side.

And Blooie, I am sorry about your sister and your dad! :( :hugs
