Ma used to just yell at me for my nails. “For crying out loud, Diane, cut those talons before I do it for you!” But they’d grow right back so fast that she’d end up scolding me for not obeying her. Even now, I cut and trim but they just sorta are....the only time I’ve ever kept them super short was after Kendra was born and before she had her tummy surgery. Just because she has limited feeling doesn’t mean she’d appreciate being cathed by someone with long nails.

You are one of the lucky ones. My nails are paper thin and shred off real easy. Baby fine hair too...would give anything if I "needed" to trim nails.

Not always! Some people use it without an intended implication behind it and others use it sarcastically with an behind the scene meaning.

got my hard nails from my daddy, and also his hair, its fine now but at 68 still brown like his was when he died, nails are so hard that i can use them as screwdrivers, hard to cut

Sometimes it is in a nice way. Usually in response to a mutual kindness. But I have often walked away from a conversation and realized I was the simple one!
