The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Our Chicago neighbor had 14 *and did not have 14 bathrooms, they learned to share like most families do. We had 1 bathroom to 5 people and then my grandma moved in too.

*plus had two stillborn . They used to save her hospital room for her. It was a yearly event. They also had to build a second floor on their ranch home. Very nice family & kids - never caused any trouble.
plumber and wife in scottdale had 18 with a couple of stillborns, but only one still alive now, most of them had bad hearts and one got mixed up with the mob, he ended up killing himself, shame, nice people

Kdogg really love your avatar in memory of Gator. He was so cute when he was young.

Thank you diva. I appreciate that. I wanted to create something for him so I whipped that up on photoshop :) the picture I think is everyone’s favorite picture of him, or one of ours.

Maybe I need to look down south or out west, somewhere warmer lol

Although I love NH and snow and cold :)

But it is probably much colder there than here.

I’ll look for some place with nice, sandy beaches :p :lau
Lot of nice places around Dothan,AL. Not on the coast but close enough. Also not alot of hurricanes hit around there. I would worry about moving back to the desert owing to water shortages.

My brother believes in ghosts and tries his hardest to run into one. There is a ghost that wanders around the building his Accupuncturist works in. My brother swears he saw a ghost coming out of the bathroom. So now he says he is going to Haunted Accupuncture.

Also watches all the ghosty shows, Ghost Hunters, et al. He bought a spirit box so he could converse with them but, nobody is talking.

I used to see apparitions years ago in the house and outside but, when the doctor changed my med. that was the last of them. The next med, I got pulled off because he said I was too bold. Yah sorta, had a BIG chip on my shoulder and was daring anyone to knock it off. Luckily they just ignored me. I might have been killed.
Send your brother down the bayou! The Myrtles is a hotel in St.Francisville,LA. that's sho nuff haunted. My friend from work was dating a guy that called himself a ghost hunter and had all that electronic stuff. They booked an overnite at the Myrtels and only made it till midnite! Ran out the door and sold his ghost gear that week...lol. Also the Oak Alley plantation is a known haint.
You can go to Marie LaVeaux's tomb in N.O on the cemetery tour. They say if you make a request to her and mark 3 X's on her tomb you will get your wish at the cost of your soul! More places than you could shake a stick at down there also claim to have supernatural connections.

OK, I am really behind (that'll teach me for not visiting!). I'll try and catch up.

It's a new year here already. Our birds have been getting far too hot in their shed so we've decided to put the birds back in the aviary. The cockatiels make a mess inside and I'm forever cleaning their cage so they and the bourkes will have the run of the aviary, the finches will go in small cages within the aviary and our Button quail will go in the bottom of the aviary and they'll just all have to get along. I put the bourkes and cockatiels into the aviary yesterday, forgetting that people would more than likely have fireworks that night. I covered the sides as best I could and prayed no bird would get a fright and kill themselves by flying into the side.

And good thing I did - I have to say I didn't appreciate getting jolted awake at midnight by ridiculously loud, booming fireworks! Thankfully our birds are more than used to unexpected loud noises living with two kids!

Anyway the birds are loving having so much freedom though the cockatiels are still figuring out that they can fly to where they want to go, rather than having to climb everywhere. One sweet little bourke we have, Ruby, was their neighbour indoors while the cockatiels were growing up. She remembered them and immediately flew over to sit on the same perch as them. She's a sweetheart.

I was thinking about Teila the other day as there's been bad flooding in North Queensland. One guy photographed cane toads (quite a number of the awful things) hitching a ride on a python to stay out of the flood waters! Australia is having terrible heatwaves too.

Jae, good to hear how you're getting along! Cute about Ruby, those bourke's are so pretty.

Wishing Teila the best and hoping the flooding isn't affecting her.

Happy New Year to you Jae!
