Good plan. I will be eating my last piece of birthday cake tonight.I might make it for tomorrow. I want to make sure I can eat cake tonight!
Before the old AC broke, it could not keep up with keeping the house cool when it was over 105. It would run constantly and the temperature in the house would keep going up. It was very expensive to run too.Yeah, I hate the high ceilings. Heat pump units are initially higher cost to install but pay for themselves with the energy use savings.

That is a very cute card!
When it gets that hot here, mine keeps the house at 77°F easily, without running the whole time. I use to keep the temp at 80°F year round when I had parrots. And it really cut down on the electric bill. Before the old AC broke, it could not keep up with keeping the house cool when it was over 105. litterally.
The house was built in 1995 and has double pane windows and good insulation. the AC was not sized correctly for the house and failed in a dramatic fashion. It overheated the electric and fused the breaker in the box by the house. It is not worth fixing due to it being the wrong size and California outlawed the Freon type. When it gets that hot here, mine keeps the house at 77°F easily, without running the whole time. And when you came inside from the 104°F, the 20+° difference could really be felt....was actually very cool and comfortable. One reason, it works so well in this house is due to the insulation, double pane windows and ceiling fans.
