Light snow and freezing rain all day today - schools are closed, and there is no traffic whatsoever on our road.

Just came in from trying to shovel my way to the nesting boxes (I can get to them from inside the run, but these were way back in a corner). Man, that stuff has drifted up to knee high and the wind has created a solid surface on top. I finally gave up on the shovel and just waded through it.

So far today on our road I have seen one vehicle, the plow truck, and the mail lady. Folks are hunkering down. Statewide apparently conditions are quite icy as hundreds of accidents have been reported.

Do you suppose that's because we're shrinking and our legs aren't as long?
