Lost cable for half an hour. I really expected it to be out for far longer, but once again we have internet/phone/TV. Shingles are blowing off my loft, and tree limbs are still falling, but the house is unscathed so far.

It is blowing the bark off dead trees here. And of course lots of branches down. Hubby is going to check for downed trees.

There was a traveling bit of the Smithsonian Museum I went to in Kansas City years back. They had a pair of Dorothy's shoes on display...guess Judy Garland went through several pairs filming the movie.

I also got to see a pair of Mohammed Ali's boxing gloves, Archie Bunker's arm chair, and the hat Lincoln wore to the play "that" night. And a bunch of other things...it was really interesting.

I'd love to go see the museum (or at least as much as possible) in Washington DC some day.

ASSUMING you are not removing the hardwood, I think the asbestos is best left underneath. Doing no harm there.


$25 for a non sexed 3 week old chick? Don't know about anyone else but that is about the max I would consider paying for a guaranteed pullet pushing up toward laying age.

That's the brooding cost of someone's own chicks. I'll hatch their eggs and brood them. It's essentially a service fee (including feed & nutridrench).

I think in the US they generally consider it much safer to leave asbestos in situ, and cover with something else, even thick clear coverings.

Yup. That's our plan too. Just hoping that the inspectors don't make us abate it. As it will remain undisturbed, I think that I'll be ok.

Seem to have lost my license. Cleaned my purse this afternoon and it was NOT in my wallet or purse. And my purse was a disaster and had not been cleaned in a VERY long time and filled with receipts, loose money, etc. so I hadn’t noticed and haven’t even opened my wallet in a while cause I just used the loose money or a credit card and hadn’t needed to. Well, I should have because I might have noticed my license wasn’t in there. And because I haven’t opened my wallet in a while and hadn’t even noticed it was missing, I have no idea when or where or HOW I lost it or any idea of where it might be. Good thing I finally cleaned out my purse and noticed it was missing cause otherwise, who knows when I would have noticed. It is possible it has been missing since I got back from my trip or fell out on the plane or something. I don’t remember where I last had it. Which makes it that much more annoying. I will be looking for it all day today and tomorrow but I do not think I am going to find it. It might be in one of my suitcases, coats, or pants. I will be going through everything I brought on the trip as well as my car (which is also a disaster atm) and hopefully I will find it soon. But I think I will also order another one tonight just in case I can’t find it. I hate to spend the money on it if it is in my suitcase or car or somewhere but I need to have one. Can’t be driving around without one and I need one for all the concerts I’m going to next month and the trip to Arizona. I don’t drink so for the concerts it doesn’t really matter, I’ll just tell them I don’t drink or lost it and get the under 21 wristband even though I’m not, but I need ID for the flight to AZ. That’s not till the end of March but still. Thinking I’m going to order one. I think it comes pretty fast. But I think I might look for it first because I really hate to order one when I know it is somewhere. Idk.
