That was along the lines of my guess too, but I read the answer before I posted so I didn't.

her driver's license that she lost a week or so back.
Yayyy!!! It’s done! Well, almost. The side frames are still up because when I got the screws out and started working on the caulk so the frames would would release, I got a nasty surprise. As I pulled the frame away from the wall at the top the stupid paper wall they used in these old mobile homes started coming off with it. <sigh> So the screws went back in and the caulk was scraped off around them and replaced. We’re sticking with it for now. Ken’s talking about getting an inexpensive tub surround and replacing the ugly walls with that. Yeah, like that’ll ever happen! Nothing so permanent in our household as something that we’re just going to go with “temporarily”.

LOL no Sadly a lot of cars are smarter than the people who drive them. Of course those people shouldn't have been given licenses or should have them taken away.
I'd say 20 years out of that car is a good 10 years longer than most of its "siblings" held out!
You need to sit in EVERY car you think you might want. And when you've narrowed it down to a few, rent one for a week if possible. Do regular around town trips, take a trip that is several hundred miles.
The ones that came in my new car are really good. High sided and even the driver's footrest is covered. Should not have salt stains on the carpet like with every other "winter mat" I've had.
Now you don't expect me to "like" THAT post do you??? Sure hope she rebounds fast.
Take it in and have the dealer check the codes. Of course by now they may have cleared. I would think that in those conditions the AWD (if not full time) should kick IN not OUT.
Mostly when people can't drive the snowbird route anymore, they sell the northern house and live in the "never snows here" house.
Had the same thing, dentist had to take out some bone to get to where the infection was and irrigate. Hurt way worse than the actual root canal.

I don’t eat Big Macs, I get double quarter pounders if and when I get McDonald’s. 
but no LOL Yup!! The new one came I think last week, apparently I ordered it about 2 weeks ago (I checked today). Probably should have looked in the car first I guess but oh well. I tried it but it was so full of stuff and I didn’t want to move it all. But oh well. Couldn’t be driving around without one. Although I guess technically I was driving around with one and just didn’t know it
we had the same problem with the most gosh ugly wall paper in the bathroom here, since the tub was a gold yellow, we ended up painting the wallpaper yellow, it made the whole bathroom really cheerful and larger looking
