I didn’t end up doing the seeds because my dad came home like right when I was about to but also because the soil is taking forever to absorb the water. Been like almost 2 hours now. I always seem to have troubles with peat moss and water absorption/retention. :/ might try getting some compost from outside but I think I’ll just wait till tomorrow and see if it’s absorbed more. This is what it’s a mix of. Idk why but peat moss never seems to absorb water for me. have some outside too.

A drop of soap will help with the water absorption. It breaks the hydrogen bond.

Try warm water.

Try warm water.

That’s what I was using. I was using warm, almost hot, water cause the directions said too but it still didn’t absorb very much or fast so I tried adding some more once some of it absorbed a little bit, haven’t checked since, but it was starting to make progress. Maybe peat moss just holds a lot of water? Haven’t tried the soap thing yet cause it looked like it was making progress.
