Ask them if they have any scrap wood you can have. Sometimes they have lots of boards they use to support loads of wood. Check with the lumber guys. If you join the Home Depot garden club you can get free coupons like $5 off on $25. Lowes will match prices, and wire is in Home and Garden.

Thank you so much!! That’s very helpful!! I will have to ask. And I didn’t realize Home Depot had a club. We have one of those too but it’s a bit further away and sometimes I find their prices can be higher but other times they’re not and with the club it might be cheaper. I will have to check out both stores. And thanks! We have a bunch of wire already so I might not need anymore but I will have to wait and see. Might be good to just buy a little roll anyway, might be easier to work with, and I might need the other wire if I make the chicken run bigger.

You are welcome! I have a big pile of wood i got free, use it all the time. They also sell mistint paint for $9 a gallon, i get exterior and paint everything i build. Some of that paint usually sells for over $30 a gallon!
