The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Hey everyone, thanks for checking in Debby.

Been a rough go around here lately. My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer on Oct. 13, 2018. I've been trying to get her to come back since then, and far before that. She had a bit of an independent and stubborn streak, that lady :) But she decided she was going to make the move. They ended up having to turn around about an hour outside of Portland and head back to OHSU, where she remained for about 5 days.

Finally got my mama home and settled in after the week journey from Coos Bay to here. She told us when she got here that the doctors in Portland had given her two weeks, based on her latest scans. We got to spend four precious but horribly short days with her, before she passed away on Saturday, June 1st. She was 54 years young.

I've never known a loss of this magnitude. I'm just trying to figure out a new normal without her...

Megan,

I'm so very sorry for your loss :hugs In time, good memories will out weigh the pain.
Your family and your Mom are in our hearts, thoughts and prayers.

Now you can enjoy them vicariously :hugs

Like I do!!!

More Ca. Valley quail hatched last night!

Awwww, your brooder must be bursting!

Ah, that's something I've been slacking on lately. During the work week I'm too busy/lazy. During my time off I'm too lazy.

Dad used to tell us that doing nuthin’ was hard work ‘cause you can’t stop to rest!

Deb, some of us have been with you since the start of your journey....and we’ll all be with you for the next steps, too!! :hugs

Nothing major planned for today. I have the laundry done from our trip to Tucson, it’s all folded and tucked into packing cubes. The formal I want to wear, Ken’s tux, and his Grand Lodge uniform are being aired until the last minute when they Katie’s formal will go into the garment bags. Got my eye appointment for the surgical consult at 3 this afternoon up up in Billings, but we’ll go up in a little bit to shop and eat before time.

Katie stayed with Aunt Tam for a few days..it’s something they’ve traditionally done when Evan leaves for the summer. Katie asked Tam if she could try painting a picture. This was the result! I’m pretty impressed!

I am so sorry! Thousands of words in the dictionary and I can’t find the right ones to put together.
