The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

@KDOGG331 I'm going to grow mealworms again but yeah I want some other bugs. I can't get past the ick factor to raise roaches and crickets are not a favored treat and we have them already alive out there. BSFL and grubs would be a nice addition I think, especially in winter when there aren't many bugs around.

Thanks for the links!

I want to try growing them again too, I may now that you reminded me I wanted to haha the chicks have never had them. And those other ones are a good idea!! I might try those too. But yeah, roaches are so gross!! Lol I think I somehow had some living in the coop. So gross lol think I evicted them though.

And no problem!! :)

They have other packs with different bugs too and other bugs and products besides the packs aha

My mini dog haha she’s been laying next to me for a while, originally on the other side. :love

The cutest fluffer around.

They should give you a discount since it was a demo unit ;)
The property looks great! And you get an instant house!!
Yeah, that pond might like some dredging.

A bunch, but not as much as we missed you!!! :hugs :hugs

I missed you guys too so :hugs for everyone.

They have knocked quite a bit off the house for us. Usually it costs $215,000 NZD but that's unfinished - no plastering, or painting (in or out), no tiling in the bathrooms, no floor coverings, no curtains, and no fire (it's an expensive gas one). The completed house is $285,000 NZD for us and there's no way we'd get all those extras done for the $70,000 difference.

We missed you! I got a new pup!

Morning folks :frow
I get it! But you'll be back next week, right?
Yup, I'll be back Friday afternoon.
Hello everyone! It's your long absent friend here who is still living in a caravan at the top of a very windy hill (11 weeks as of yesterday).

The kids have been driving us (and each other) mental but this week our DD has gone to stay with my parents so things are a lot calmer. Our DS misses his sister but I don't think the feeling is mutual!

Last night our offer on a property was accepted (once we went up another $5,000), so we have an 11 and a half acre property to put the house we bought a few days ago on!

Companies here make prefabricated houses in their yards that they then truck to your site. We'd gone to look at this particular company's show home last September and I absolutely fell in love with it. I love the layout and the look. When DH rang up to see how long it would take to get them to build us one they actually had one fully finished to show home standard that someone had backed out of. So we've put down our deposit and then had to find somewhere to put it (as otherwise it was an 8-10 month wait as they are so busy).

Our new property is on State Highway 14 but it's relatively quiet traffic wise for a highway. It has the old highway running through the back of the property, no longer sealed but the big old trees that used to line it remain.
There's a big pond that needs cleaning out which is fed by water that runs under the old road - we can hear a little waterfall but it's lost in ferns:

This was when there were cows on it:

And here's the house (these were on their Facebook page as they took 'our" house to an annual rural show called Field Days - it wasn't quite our house at that stage).

This is their website with photos of their 2 show homes. Ours is the Maple.

So now we have all the other bits and pieces to work out and we'll be all set. It's such a relief to know where we are headed rather than being stuck in limbo.

So, what have I missed? How's everyone keeping?

Jae so good to see you back and what great news. :hugs

It's a girl and her name is Sunny. She is a dynamo and keeps up with the German Shepherd! Makes me laugh daily.

Good morning everyone!

Did you say you order chicken treats from Chewy on occasion? If so, do you order bugs?

The only bug-type thing I get from Chewy is mealworms but they might have others  They're kind of limited on chicken stuff but what I get from them saves me a trip to town, it's really convenient to get a package every other month delivered straight to the house.
