Some before pictures. :lau

Poor girl. :lau :gig :lau

They do get pretty scraggly looking but the new feathers are nice!

Yes! They look gorgeous right after a molt! :love

Just too bad she decided to go scraggly right before the wedding :lau

She’s been molting for a couple weeks though at least I think. Started out kinda slow but now she’s fully scraggly.

She’s been molting pretty hard lately. Last year she started in August. And I think she did this time too but a lot later, towards the end.

Stopped laying a while before then too both times.

But if last year/this year is any indication, she should start up laying again ohhhhhh... February or March. :lau

The older ones are turning 4 the end of next month though.

So really it’s amazing they’re laying at all lol let alone daily. Only 2 laying currently but they’re laying daily. We also had a broody who I think finally broke recently so that’s part of it too.

Anyway, gonna have to show my cousins and family and everyone the before pic of her so they don’t think I neglect or abuse my chickens or anything. :lau :gig :lau

Jk of course they know I don’t but I think she is a gorgeous bird and of course she just happened to decide to get ugly right before they visit for the first time in 20 years :lau :gig:lau

Posted this on another thread..posting it here too.. lucky day back in the 80's for us. .........Have a son with a birthday today. I tell him he's our lucky boy. Had him as a healthy newborn after having a son before him born with Spina Bifida. I had just heard of a friend that had had their second child in a row born with Spina Bifida. Happened more back in the 80's as it was the number one birth defect ..all before a study I was part of...found out just how important that folic acid is for that first trimester. Anyway, his birthday falls on this Friday every now and again.

Persephone could have given her a run for her money a few times. For some reason she isn't moulting as hard this year. And yeah, she'll go back to laying sometime in February. She's a 7 Y/O EE.

She IS beautiful when in feather.

Yeah tbh I wasn’t sure if she would ever resume laying because at one point I’m pretty sure she stopped for like a year or more! She hadn’t laid in a while then one day just started again lol the other EE is an excellent layer!! She and one of my Orpingtons are the only ones laying right now. And that’s good! Bunny keeps molting hard lately. Must be age maybe. She’s turning 4 the end of next month. And I hope she starts in February again. :fl or sooner. :fl

Thank you!! I think so too. :love

I think Peach, the newest EE, is a looker too. :love

Her sisters are in some of these too cause her, the SS, and the WL are best friends lol

My daughter was born on Friday the 13th. Happy Birthday to your son Cynthia! So happy you did the study for those of us that had our babies after you.
