The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

My daughter was born on Friday the 13th. Happy Birthday to your son Cynthia! So happy you did the study for those of us that had our babies after you.

Happy birthday to your daughter IM!

eta: After I typed that, I got to wondering if this is the right month. Might have to take that cake back.

Don't get many trick or treaters here. Only a few houses per block, and some with no streetlights. Kids do a lot better at the schools where they set up Halloween parties for them.

When we first moved in 50 years ago, YES,Halloween existed that far back, we had the older high school kids and they went around soaping windows, smashing pumpkins,
toilet papering all the trees and taking off with candy intended to the younger kids.

I think they eventually moved on to prison or something. Then we got the little trick or treaters. But - they discovered they did much better in condo/town house areas where they had shorter walks and better rewards.

:lau that’s how ours is. Our house was here first as was the street behind us but then they built the condo/townhome development not that long after we moved in and that’s in front of us/all around and huge so yes most kids just go there lol it’s no wonder they don’t come down our driveway. :lau also they just built a new development fairly recently, maybe couple years ago? Idk. Seems brand new to me but was probably at least a year or two ago lol so anyway, kids also go there I think. It’s right next to ours. My brother’s neighborhood gets trick or treaters. They have more of a “neighborhood” vibe, closer together, and kids in the neighborhood so they def get them ha

Anyway, the one street in our town I previously used to be like yours or still is, idk. But they TP things, egged things, etc. etc.

We have the trunk or treat. Folks gather at the church parking lot, open up the back of their vehicles, or sit in chairs by their vehicles with bowls of candy. Start around 5..go home when candy is gone, usually done within the hr. Then, we get older kids coming by later. Plus, some kids that came to the parking lot. We leave the lights on for them to come get the rest of what we didn't hand out, because we usually leave early.
