The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Got my skin checked today, then went to a huge pet store, 2 levels!

Jae, it's so fun to see pictures of your little birds again...they're beautiful! About what age will they be when you'll be able to sex them?

A few of the older ones are starting to give an indication of what they are. The boys chortle whereas the girls make a more simple chirp. I've caught the biggest/oldest white pied squatting like a hen too!

Can't believe you've had snow already! That's just mean.

Unfortunately we will be waiting another month for our house to be delivered, which I am less than impressed with, so we are going to move the caravan onto our property on Monday as our water tanks are being delivered on Monday. Our big chicken coop is already there, we have 2 lovely wooden sheds, the kids big playhouses and my big aviary will be ready and delivered in just over a week so we'll have everything (except a house)!

Love them! Pretty smart little ones. Had one years ago, gave it to our daughter when we moved, her daughter took care of him most of the time, so he moved with her when she moved out. She was just asking how old I thought he was. Thinking he's around 14! How long can they live?

Apparently they can live until they are about 30 years old! My grandmother's one, who only eats seed and never comes out of his cage, must be getting close to that. They are adorable and very smart.

I got a few cute photos of the littlest one playing with a bit of plain popcorn.

I think he is a bit of a runt as he's about a month old which is when they'd be leaving the nestbox, but his feathers haven't fully opened yet.

I sure have Pert. A lot depends on if we stay here another year (that depends on DH's job). If we stay here, I told DH I'd work another season. Surprise!

We won't have a restaurant next season so I'd just go back to being the club house manager which would be a lot easier physically.

Hi Cynthia, love the jack-o-lantern avatar!
. Thank you. :).

I understand your frustration about the house... But sounds like you're making good progress.

I'm going to give you a shout out in another thread. Person has questions about one of the types of birds you keep.

Good morning everyone!

Cap, did you get anything at the pet store? Sounds like a fun place to visit!

Cute pictures of your littlest bird Jae :) Sorry you have to wait yet another month on the house but it sounds like being on your property will be nicer for everyone.
