The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Yep, I didn't/do know any survivors of Pearl Harbor but knew a survivor of the first wave to hit Omaha Beach.

We had a neighbor named Bud that was a survivor of Pearl. He was the sweetest man. We've never been to HI but learning about it in school, it really made an impression.

We have shopping and hopefully building the A-frame for the pigs this weekend, but it should still be a good weekend.:) Hope you get to relax

Shouldn't be too bad -normal stuff today, shopping and caring for the animals. You have a good weekend as well :)
I am thinking about my mom today as it's her birthday in heaven :hitit's been 48 years, but for me it never gets easier:(

Hugs for you on your mom's birthday Sue :hugs

I'll make you feel smarter sharron. Mainly I did dog grooming- which meant I got scratched, bitten (a couple times).Had extra vigorous fleas come in that refused to die.
Had to repeat the bath and try again, etc.

Poodle came in without being trimmed(elsewhere) in over a year and not having a brush or comb used anywhere on him.I told woman he had to be shaved down. When she came to pick him up she was hysterical that I was trying to palm off a different dog as him. The dog certainly recognized her. She had her kid with her and he recognized the dog and dog was all over him.

I showed her a small plastic Xmas tree that was lodged in his hair. Also the rubber band that someone put around the dogs neck. Luckily I found it before it dug into his skin.
That alerted her and she asked her kid if he had done that. Then smacked him without his answer.

IF she had bothered to comb/brush the dog between trims she would have found the items herself. Dog was really good and easy to work on. Of course she never came back.
Which was the best part.

That was just one story. Some were much worse. Loved working on the dogs, didn't care for most of the owners. They wanted fancy foo foo coats and then didn't lift a finger to keep them looking that way.

How old were you when she passed?
Morning DMC, how are you doing?

10 days of work left until my break, but we have someone coming to inspect the centers next week, so we have to make sure to be on point with everything  We have no problems, but just done with all the watching this year.
Good, how are you? You know when an inspection is coming...we don’t.
