The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Hi everyone - thought I'd better stop by and say an early Merry Christmas (only 2 sleeps to go for me). We are finally all moved in. The house got delayed another week, then it took them 3 nights to get it here. The first night they didn't even make it out of Auckland due to roadworks, then the next night something on the trailer broke about 20mins from here. Then on the third night it finally arrived.

But we are loving it here. We bought 4 little heifers (as I want a housecow eventually) and they are slowly chewing away at the out of control grass. One loves being brushed and wants all the attention (and food)!

Our chickens are enjoying being free rangers but they stick to the trees (smart birds) as we do have hawks around. One of our Old English Game Bantams disappeared and I feared the worst, then she would occasionally appear (and just as mysteriously disappear when your back was turned) so she must've had a little nest somewhere. I'm amazed nothing attacked her in the night as there must be rats and possums around and she's so little. There are wild turkeys that frequently pass through as well and we've been lucky enough to see newly hatched turkey chicks. They are so adorable!

We've spent today making melting snowman cookies to give as gifts - the kids had fun and they look cute.

What have you done to your leg Debby? And how are those renovations going?

Jae, so nice to hear from you!!! Congrats on finally getting your house, I'd love to see pictures of your place. Sounds like you have plenty of animals to keep you busy..do you still have some of your little house birds?

Hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas, stay in touch!

P.S. My leg is a mystery at this point. 3 doctors = 3 diagnosis. Home renovations are coming along, slowly but at least they're happening.

Long time no hear from you. Glad you finally got moved in, what a nightmare in getting it there.
Sounds like your enjoying the new place and new animals.

Don't be a stranger, we miss ya here!
Have a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year!

Good morning everyone! :frow

Cold morning here, 34°F, suppose to warm up to near 70° today.

Debby - how's the foot doing this morning?

Everyone make it a great day! :celebrate

You are actually a bit colder than we are...we're at 38* with a high of 42* expected. If the sun is shining that will be ok for us. By the end of the week we're due for another round of cold.
