The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

:frow Good afternoon Sour, enjoy those warmer temps
:frow Good afternoon IM, have a great day

Debby, you might want to find their website, you can probably email them and ask.

:frow Good afternoon Deb, big dents are important. I don't even want to share how much junk we accumulated after 20 years in the same house. :th

Thanks for the tip Bob, I found the website and got my application in. I'll find out in a couple of weeks what the answer is. Thanks again!

:thHi all! Busy day. I started out at the clinic as I needed a prescription renewed. I was supposed to draw blood at 7:30 and dr at 8:30. It was blizzarding when we left. Hubby pulled up to the clinic and was dropping me off...clinic was calling as I was getting out to cancel me as my nurse practioner couldn’t get in... I said no way put me with someone else. They didn’t have me on their list for blood work so had to squeeze me in cuz someone screwed up. I was not happy about having a different nurse practitioner but ending up liking her alot and will now go to her. I don't like change but sometimes it’s a good thing! I dispise going to the doctor:thHubby hauled me to daycare from there. He’s probably going to have to haul me around tomorrow too as no plows have been out on the gravel roads.

Kinda like the government paying farmers NOT to grow certain things, or any thing.
I'm not growing anything but weeds. How can I tap into this????
I think you would have to NOT grow weeds to get paid!

Thanks Bruce! How are the holidays treating you?
Pretty well, small gathering of 8 people at DW's parents on XMas day. They'll be coming over in the 4th for DW's BDay (on the 5th) rib roast ... plus whatever I come up with for her sister that eats only non red meat animals.

Both boys work their hineys off in season to not work in the off season.
Guess I still don't understand. Is this state unemployment or somehow through the company they work for? DD2 works a seasonal winter job and a seasonal summer job. Seems like that is how seasonal work should be. When the seasonal job ends you find another until that season comes around again.

Someone told me unemployment works the same way around here DMC...if you have a guaranteed job waiting for you, you can collect until you go back. I haven't checked into it, but that's what a local told me.
That can be true. The company DW and I worked for had a 2 week "layoff" for all employees (thousands) at our site some many years back and we got unemployment for those 2 weeks. I don't recall why they had that "once in the 80 year company history layoff".

Good morning everyone :)

On the unemployment topic-I get the summer off with Head Start, so I get unemployment benefits because I have a call back date for every August.

Debby you should reach out to your unemployment office-you should be eligible.
Again I don't understand how this works. My mother was a school teacher for decades. Clearly a seasonal job and the only time she got paid in the summer was if she was teaching summer school.

This is so hilarious to me. :lau
Seems like some of those could not have possibly gotten into those containers without human assistance.

I don’t know how to explain it to you. One works with cement, the other is road construction. They have each worked for their companies the last few years.
