Sadly, I have reached that point in life where I am losing friends far too frequently. My Mom was a rather stoic German. One day in a moment of pique she said, "Folks think that the worst part of getting old is the infirmities and having to depend upon others. That stinks, but the worst part really is that too many of those you care about have already died." I now understand.

My mom, being the silly woman she was, said "Men are scum. They all die." My dad died @ 61. Almost 10 years later she finally found a companion. He died a few months later.

Morning Chat Threaders And the Fabulous NFC.... I been AWOL... focusing on my Canning and Preserving thread and off SHOPPING online. I can never catch up... sigh. But I still love you all.

First Milestone

Officially I am down 112 pounds which is the FREAKING HALF WAY POINT. ​

Second Milestone

Past couple of days I Have been moving without pain... and being able to getup and sit down with a minimum of pain. Were talking being able to walk half a block With my Walker with out having to stop for a rest.

Third milestone

My Muse is back.... I am designing a pantry.... Just came from the store after buying some cheapo drafting tools. All mine are at home.
This means my mental health is on the upswing....

-23C here (-9F). Got about 5" of snow the night before last. Thank goodness it's powder. It makes shoveling out so much easier.

I discovered that my brand new tractor did not come with a block heater. it's illegal to sell new cars without them, but that's obviously not the case with tractors. I bought a magnetic block heater, and then discovered that the block is aluminum or some other non conductive material. I've got it propped up so that it touches the block. Hopefully it works so that I can plow.
